About this house rental
Villa Marcella is a characteristic and welcoming independent house located on a hillside, facing the sea. It sleeps eight people. From Villa Marcella you will enjoy an enchanting view of the sea and of the coast of Amalfi. Villa Marcella is 170 square meters (1830 square feet). It features a spacious private terrace with a view of the sea, air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed) and WI-FI Internet access.
You will be roughly 3 km (1.9 miles) from the center of Amalfi, where you will find restaurants, shops, public transportation, the beach and the tourist port. You will find the closest restaurant at 1.5 km (roughly 1 mile), a grocery store at 400 meters (440 yards), the stop for the SITA bus Amalfi - Pogerola line a few meters (feet) away and the closest beach at roughly 1 km (0.6 miles) including 400 stairway steps.
You will reach Villa Marcella from the street level going up a short public walkway that includes approximately 60 stairway steps.
You will not need a car to stay at Villa Marcella. If you do have one, you will be able to park it free of charge in a parking space. The parking space is suitable for at most one car. Private parking must be reserved ahead of time; we kindly ask you to let our staff know, so that we can make the necessary arrangements for you.

Villa Marcella is part of a medieval building, that used to be an ancient Saracen watch tower. It is placed high up on a picturesque tract of rocky coast, at a height of approximately 100 meters (330 feet) above the sea level, and almost sheer above the sea itself. Every view of the seascape in this area is truly breathtaking.
Villa Marcella is part of a bunch of ancient houses that cling to the top of a rocky spur, all facing the sea and the sun, and surrounded by lemon growths. Here the authentic locals live their life, with its quiet rhythm, and there is no crowd of tourists.
Terrace
The terrace is 80 square meters (860 square feet) large. It is partly shaded by a perfumed bougainvillea pergola. It is equipped with tables, chairs, a sun umbrella and deck chairs. Here you will also find a portable barbecue. From the terrace you will enjoy an enchanting view of the sea and of the coast of Amalfi.
Living Room
The living room is paved with tiles with handmade decoration, in the characteristic style of the Amalfi Coast. The ceiling has characteristic exposed wood beams. The furnishings are warm and welcoming, featuring some antique pieces. Here you will find a bunk bed (two single beds, one on top of the other), as well as two sofas. The dining table can accommodate eight guests. In this room you will find a television (local channels). The room has three windows with a view of the sea.
Kitchen
You will be able to enter the kitchen from the living room. It is equipped with a four-burner gas cooker, an electric oven, a refrigerator with freezer and an Italian-style coffee-maker. From the kitchen a French door will take you to the terrace. The room also has a window.
Bedroom 1 with en-suite bathroom
You will be able to enter the first bedroom from the corridor. The ceiling is high and vaulted. The room has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/63 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). The room has two windows with a view of the sea and of the coastline, and it's equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, spacious and equipped with a washbasin, a toilet and a fully enclosed shower.
Bedroom 2
You will be able to enter the second bedroom from the corridor. The ceiling is high and vaulted. The room has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/63 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). The furnishings include a desk. The room has two windows with a view of the sea and of the coastline, and it's equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit, and you will also find a mini refrigerator.
Bedroom 3
You will be able to enter the third bedroom from the corridor. The ceiling is high and vaulted. The room has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/63 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). The furnishings include a wood sofa and a desk. The room has a window with a view of the sea, and it's equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
Bathroom
The bathroom is spacious and equipped with a washbasin, a toilet, a shower, a bathtub with shower wand and a hairdryer. You will be able to enter the bathroom from the corridor.

You will be able to reach the laundry room from the living room. Here you will find a washing machine, an iron and an ironing board at your disposal.

This is a spacious house with beautiful sea view. Plenty of space for 5 adults in the house and on the patio. The parking garage included is very important if you have a rented car otherwise it will be a big challenge to find a parking spot on the twisting road. Our host Doriana is very responsive and super helpful. She arranged a nice private boat day tour for Amalfi coast.

We had a very pleasant stay, the view is absolutely lovely, it is really peaceful even though it is by no means isolated, and its elevated position means there is no traffic noise.
We were welcomed by a lovely lady who was very helpful. The air conditioning in the bedroom was excellent and a real boon.
Parking spot superb.

The views and location are amazing! Host and house manager were very responsive and helpful. Met us on day one and available through WhatsApp for questions throughout our stay.
Every room in the house had a window or door with a view. AC units in each of the 3 bedrooms. Kitchen had everything needed to cook meals and well stocked with blankets and towels. The house was clean and comfortable for a big family.
Location was close enough to the major cities for day and night trips (about 70 minute drive to Sorrento, 35 minutes to Positano, 15 minutes to Ravello and 20 minutes to Minori). The walk to the market (Market Marcellino) was about 10 minutes (about 200 stairs) and had all the necessities. The walk to the public beach took about 30 minutes and lots of stairs (through the town and public roads but we did it with two small children) and the beach was totally worth it (Spiaggia di Conca dei Marini) as it’s only accessible by walking or boat.
The bus stop was a minute walk from the apartment (although we did not use). We chose to just drive to eat. Overall I would stay again and recommend.
