Val-d'Isère is one of the most beautiful mountain resorts in France, and will captivate anyone who loves an authentic alpine experience. The old village with its typical Savoyard chalets around the church, a jewel of the baroque, oozes character and charm.
Positioned in a wonderfully natural setting, overlooking a small stream, the flat provides a comfortable ‘home-from-home’ with fantastic views of the mountains and in particular ‘la face’; the venue for the men’s downhill of the 92 Winter Olympic Games.

Terrific location and good property for a 4 person family. It could fit more but would be a squeeze. The bed in the main bedroom is a little on the small side but overall we had a terrific time here. As I say, the location is a real winner

We arrived to find the apartment poorly cleaned with a dirty loo, food caked to bin and walls, dusty skirting boards, muddy shoe racks, food smeared on bedroom window... I could go on. When I contacted the local host, he called back the cleaners who actually argued with me. They cleaned the bin and walls in the kitchen and loo but left everything else. A poor start. We then discovered a big hole in the main bathroom wall where an extractor fan should be. This was fixed the next day but I had to contact the owner in order to get this done. The general feel of this apartment is rundown. The bedding was poor quality and dirty, chipped plates and mugs, broken cabinet door in sitting room, scratched wooden floors, dirty linen in wardrobes, dirty radiators. For the price we paid this is terrible value. The only saving grace was its location. The photos on VRBO are very misleading.

This was a trip dreamed about for so long. The adults hadn’t skied for 8 years and it was a first time for the children: aged 4,5,6&7. Pascal’s apartment couldn’t have been more perfect. It was a squeeze for two families but luckily we knew each other well. The gorgeous open plan room & the little kitchen which had everything we needed was so lovely to come home to each day. The position of the apartment was brilliant: easy access to the main lift & to the swimming pool for the kids, so close to delicious restaurants & some apres ski for us adults. Thank you so much for helping make our first family skiing trip so memorable!

Very well located property, very close to the main lifts, and to the bus stop at Rond Point, where all the shuttle buses stop. We were very happy there. We were five adults including one beginner. The beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms and kitchen worked well for us. The three bunk beds are all adult length. Plenty of hot water. And best of all is the south facing balcony with a clear view of La Face ski slope. Here you can enjoy a beer at the end of the day and watch the skiers and boarders descend this famous black run. Particularly good for our beginner skier who was coming back from the slopes earlier than the rest of us. We ordered our daily bread and croissants at La Gourmandine restaurant next door. We ate dinner at La Gourmandine and at Paolo's Cafe, an Italian restaurant opposite the apartment entrance. Both were very good. We also liked The Fondue Factory a lot. There ate lots of ski hire options nearby. We used Snowberry, which is about 20 metres away, and were extremely happy with our skis.

Nice property in a great location in Val D'Isere Nord Point, just steps from the piste and Cocorico for the excellent apres-ski. The apartment is well-appointed. One of the bathrooms is a little on the small side, but very manageable.

It was a joy to return to Praz d'Aval. It's location on the ground floor near the Rond Point in Val d'Isere means that there is literally step free access from bed to piste - perfect! We were very comfortable there, booking and communication were easy. We will certainly be back when the opportunity allows.

Pascale's apartment was very warm, comfy and well equipped for our stay. Our party were 5 adults, so there was plenty of space. It's position at Rond Point couldn't be better for accessing the lifts and free bus service. All my communications with Pascale were answered promptly and helpfully (my only very small concern was that Pascale's agent in resort has absolutely no English, and since my French is limited - to say the least - communications with her at the beginning and end of our stay were challenging!) We had the most wonderful week. Thank you.

Optimal location, in the immediate vicinity of the ski lifts, the bus station and the Skirental. Well furnished, but a bit tight (we were four, so we had enough space, to sixth or even ninth would have been hardly possible ...). Overall quiet, with the exception of the bedroom to the street. Very nice, helpful and accommodating owner, very nice cleaning crew.

We had a lovely stay at Pascale’s apartment. It is right next to the rond point where you have a great choice of lifts for all levels of skiers and boarders and where the bus stops, if you end up further afield. The apartment itself had a great social space, huge dining table, a well equipped kitchen, lovely showers and a big bath. It is ground floor level at the front but elevated at the back with small balconies. We would be very happy to stay here again. Thank you.

The living room has great views on to La Face run and the location is perfect being a very short walk to the Solaise lift and the Olympic Telerephique. Also being on the ground floor is great with ski equipment on. Being a modern lounge some of the seating is stylish as opposed to very comfortable but this is a minor point. I would stay again very happily.

The apartment is 30m from the piste and then it is 50m to the bubbles, up Solaise or up Bellevarde, take your pick. Or take a chair instead. So we were skiing immediately in the mornings, and able to ski home too - the location was everything we hoped. We found decent local restaurants and bars without going into town, though all the free buses stop 20m from the apartment door so that's very easy too, though we usually walked in the 2-300 metres across the piste instead. The apartment was clean and comfortable, warm and well-equipped for a family stay, with simple modern furnishings. The views out to the Face from the dining table added motivation at breakfast time, and provided a mix of entertainment later in the day - on a different visit it might be warm enough to enjoy this view from the chairs on the balcony. The owner and local help were thoroughly obliging and straightforward in all our dealings. I'd certainly stay there again.

We had a very happy stay in this apartment. I had never used Home and Away before and was a little apprehensive but the property was as described. The booking was easy to do and Pascale, the owner, was helpful and courteous pre-arrival. We had excellent directions from Pascale and when we arrived, quite a bit later than we had said we would be, were met by Ana, the property manager, who was extremely helpful throughout. We had one minor issue during the week, being unable to get the DVD player to work, (our fault), and she sorted it out very fast. The property is very well equipped, and we were a family of 2 parents, three adult sons, and adult nephew. As is common in ski properties, bedrooms were compact, but the living area is very large, full of light, airy, and has beautiful views up the ski slopes. We spent the end of each ski day on chairs on the balcony enjoying the sunset (and a beer!) The kitchen is not big, but is very well equipped with proper oven, ceramic hob, microwave, kettle etc. and all the cookware, dinnerware, and utensils you could possibly need. The dining table is very big and comfortable, and a lovely place to eat and play cards or just chat together. The location is very good, very close to 2 ski hire shops, 2 restaurants, and the ski slopes. Almost no effort required to walk a few yards onto the slopes, and ski down to Solaise etc, and we had an "on the flat" 2 minute walk across the nursery slopes on return, though it is possible to ski closer. Not so great was the small ski locker, but there were generous shoe/boot racks in the property, and a balcony for skis, so not a problem for us. To access the main resort, you can either walk across the nursery slope (pretty flat), or get the free ski bus, as Rond Point is separated from the main shopping area by a short tunnel. At peak times, the free bus comes every 5/10 minutes, though less frequently at other times. Only one stop on the free bus and you are in the main shopping area, which we all loved. Lots of lovely restaurants close by, and we really enjoyed the Italian restaurant immediately across from the apartment. The closest supermarket is Sherpa, which was just about 2 bus stops away in the town centre. Not a problem at all, as you can then pop back on the bus with your groceries, and have almost no distance to carry them, as the bus stop at Rond Point is just a few metres from the apartment. I highly recommend this apartment, and I would love to own it.

Excellent pre-trip comms and organisation. Very impressive and spacious flat, for three of us that stayed. All modern amenities and good wifi. Clean and as described. We used primarily as base to and from the conference centre and minutes away from all the ski lifts. Cafe next door and pizzeria across the road, as well as full kitchen facility, although we didn't use it. Warm and cosy despite big rooms and balconies overlooking the river. Perfect for a family. Thoroughly endorse the property. Thank you Pascale, until the next time!
