Dams Place

Dam, the host, is exceptionally friendly and warm. He truly made us feel at home, constantly checking in on our needs and preferences. On the day we had to catch a very early train, he insisted on driving us to the station and even prepared takeaway breakfast for us—such a thoughtful touch! The room is located in a separate building, featuring minimalist decor and plenty of space. It comes with a private living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom. There’s also a lovely terrace upstairs. Given all these amenities, it offers incredible value for money. Combined with the solar water heater (which is slightly cooler in the mornings and evenings but totally fine), this place is a definite winner.

Everything was great, but there’s room for improvement in cleanliness—specifically the kitchen and the washing machine could use a deeper clean.

Needed a place to cook after eating sri lankan food every day and Dam's place was ideal. Its a beautiful house with trees. You can hear birds singing. Dam was always there to help, gave us a ride to fort.

Nothing as such, just a note to others, try not to park your car on road too long as it hinders traffic in a narrow road.

Dam is a wonderful host, he truly loves meeting people and is passionate about ensuring you have a great stay in Sri Lanka. He was so kind to drop us off at the Fort to explore on our first day. He also helped us arrange a bus to the airport and dropped us off there too. Facilities are basic (similar to other home stay in Sri Lanka) but neat and tidy. You have lots of space to yourself, with a bedroom plus kitchen, bathroom and sitting area.
