Dams Place

Spacious and clean apartment. Warm and helpful host. Auto ride away from the Galle fort area.

Dam is a charming and generous host. He is keen to help his guests and is a great source of local information. The apartment is comfortable, though a little tired in some areas, but is incredibly well priced for what you get. Would recommend highly as a place to stay in Galle

Dam, the host, is exceptionally friendly and warm. He truly made us feel at home, constantly checking in on our needs and preferences. On the day we had to catch a very early train, he insisted on driving us to the station and even prepared takeaway breakfast for us—such a thoughtful touch! The room is located in a separate building, featuring minimalist decor and plenty of space. It comes with a private living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom. There’s also a lovely terrace upstairs. Given all these amenities, it offers incredible value for money. Combined with the solar water heater (which is slightly cooler in the mornings and evenings but totally fine), this place is a definite winner.

Everything was great, but there’s room for improvement in cleanliness—specifically the kitchen and the washing machine could use a deeper clean.

Excellent host and area. Dam was very helpful and informative throughout my stay. Highly recommended.
