About this villa rental
Set in a peaceful spot beneath the beautiful Beşparmak Mountains, Mountain View Villa offers space, comfort and fantastic views of both mountain and sea. It’s located in the quiet village of Lapta, just a 15-minute walk from the Lapta Strip, where you’ll find a great mix of local restaurants, bars and beachside spots to suit all tastes and budgets. The harbour town of Kyrenia is only 8 miles away and perfect for a day out exploring the castle, shops and waterfront cafés.
The villa sleeps up to six guests in three spacious bedrooms – two doubles and one twin – all with air conditioning, ceiling fans and built-in wardrobes. The master bedroom has an en suite shower room and opens directly onto the terrace and pool area. There’s also a family bathroom with a bath and shower.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, water cooler, and ironing facilities – ideal for relaxed self-catering. The open-plan lounge and dining area is bright and comfortable, with two large sofas, armchair, a dining table for six, TV (with full English channels, movies, catch-up etc) and free WiFi. Patio doors lead straight out to the terraces, gardens and pool.
The villa is surrounded by mature gardens on all sides and offers a lovely sense of privacy. The L-shaped overflow pool is perfect for cooling off and is fully equipped with sun loungers, umbrellas and drinks tables. There’s a shaded gazebo for relaxing out of the sun, and a large outdoor dining area for enjoying BBQ meals together. As the sun sets, garden and pool lighting create a calm, welcoming atmosphere for evenings outside.
The roof terrace is a real bonus – with uninterrupted views of the sea and mountains, it’s a great spot to enjoy a quiet drink, watch the sunset, or gaze up at the stars.

We have just spent a very relaxing 10 days at this lovely villa. Everything we needed was available and the area was great, so clean and tidy. The pool area was great and plenty of sun or shade areas to relax. A quick 5 min walk brings you to the main road with plenty of buses to take you into Kyrenia or to any of the many restaurants along the Lapta strip, some within walking distance. Communication with Pete and Jean was great as was the help from property management Di and her husband. We had a great holiday and would recommend this villa to anyone wishing to explore TRNC

First off, the villa is really nice.
Location is good and we would have walked to the various restaurants, but the main road does not make for a pleasant stroll. After a couple of days we resorted to using taxis at £5 each way.
The villa is well equipped, clean, in a quiet location, has a decent size pool and lots of space around the pool so you can have your own space.
I could not give the villa 5 stars though. Main reason is that the AC in the bedrooms is on a countdown timer (in the master bedroom it only runs for 1 hour before shutting down). When we were there, it was 35c at 11:00pm and although there are ceiling fans, all they do is shift the hot air around the room. If I had known this, I would not have booked the villa.
Another review stated the family bathroom was smelly. It is and the solution is quite simple - put a proper trap on the basin to prevent a direct path from the sewer to the bathroom.
The other thing I was not happy about - the roof terrace. The villa was advertised with comfy sofa, table and large parasol to enjoy the mountain and sea views. The reality was 4 plastic sunbeds. I know the sun causes a lot of damage, but everybody else seems to manage.
I would go back if the issues mentioned above were resolved - but as it stands, there are other options.
