Its position makes going to the most beautiful places of Salento and the beaches near the Adriatic sea, easy. The modern pool with panoramic view on the surroundings will brighten your stay. It’s a simple manifestation of a light yet majestic architecture and it conforms with the neighboring nature. It’s a a philosophy that’s well resumed by the three dwellings in stone that can easily accommodate up to twelve people.
The interiors are personalized by furniture in style minimal-chic, that delineate its style. The used materials bring out the feeble colors of the stone and the choice of the color white gives the house a new brightness and freshness.
The main dwelling, which gives you the impression of controlling the valley, is equipped with a comfortable living room with American kitchen, three bedrooms (one with a king-size bed, a double bedroom and one with a French bed), that each have their own bathroom with shower and toilet. The terraces and the external furniture represent the perfect union between luxury and tradition.
About 30 meters far from the main unit, there are the two trulli, both renovated and furnished with class, each with an independent access: the first one consists of a bedroom and a private bathroom and the second one of two bedrooms (a master bedroom and a double bedroom) that share a bathroom. These two bedrooms are not indipendent: to get to the twin bedroom it`s necessary to go through the double (see the plan of the house in the pictures).
Our team offers to the guests of La Gastalena a wide choice of exclusive services in villa: cleaning during the week, a cook or a chef, a masseur, yoga classes, baby sitting services, trips on sailboats on the adriatic sea, jeep or vespa tours.
La Gastalena is only 7 km from Ostuni and Cisternino, 14 km from Martina Franca e 15 km from the sea.

- After reservation, you can fix check-in (from 4pm to 8pm) and check-out (from 8.30 am to 10am). An extra payment of euro 50 is required for late check-in upon request (from 8pm to 12am).
- Upon your arrival you will be required to sign the tourism contract written in Italian language.
- The tourist tax, WHERE APPLICABLE,is not included in the price and will be applied according to the municipal regulations.
- First Bed linen/towels kit included in total price. Mandatory change at euro 35 per person for stays longer than 10 nights (1 change), for stays longer than 17 nights (2 changes) and for stays longer than 24 nights (3 changes).
- Pool available from May to October.
- Extra cleaning fee for pets euro 132 to pay upon arrival.
- It is MANDATORY to sort and dispose the waste. If not, it will be withheld penalty fee of 80 euro for up to 10 kg of waste + 50 euro for each additional kg.
- It is MANDATORY to leave the stove and cutlery clean (service not included in the price of final cleaning). If not, it will be withheld a penalty fee of 40 euro.
- Bathrooms have no bidet.

Summary of reviewsThe villa is as pictured, with nice common areas and a well-stocked kitchen. It has large grounds and unique trulli structures. Despite some issues, the villa offers a pleasant stay.

Firstly and importantly one thing that is not clear at all in this villa description is that one of the bedrooms, the second room in one of the Trullos is effectively within another bedroom and only accessed through that room. We did not find out until arrival resulting in non related adults on holiday for a week basically having to share a bedroom, which absolutely put a damper on things. It is effectively 4 double rooms and 1 double room with a children's twin room attached.
Also I cannot see the benefit of booking through homeaway at all. When it is time for payment you only pay the homeaway fee through homeaways payment portal, the remainder of the payment is done directly to the villa company, who are slow to respond to emails and also I cannot understand how you get any of the 'protection' of booking through homeaway if they are not processing the payment. When I called homeaway to chase the owners for responses they were useless and told me they can only do the same as me, send messages. I should have taken this as a sign early on of the service and quality to be received but the pictures of the villa looked so nice we persevered.
On to the villa... With the exception of the bedroom situation the villa is as pictured. The common areas are nice and the kitchen well stocked with utensils, plates, cups, etc. There are no locks on any of the doors inside (not even bathrooms) which makes it challenging with young children and a lot of outdoor cushions are now missing from the seating areas which makes them unusable/uncomfortable.
The grounds are large and the two trulli are a few minutes walk from the main house across a rocky slightly hilly path, so be aware when thinking of who will go where.
It's clear no maintenance check was done before we arrived, many lights were not functioning, but we found lightbulbs and changed which lights we could ourselves, the washing machine also stopped frequently mid cycle. We informed the cleaners (who came Monday, Wednesday, Friday) but they clearly didn't pass the message on. When we did inform the company directly they did react quickly and send a maintenance man, but these things should have been checked prior.
Cost of towels and linens, and pool towels, are in addition to the cost above, and no mid week change is included in that cost.
Finally, the WiFi is only in the main house and not in the Trulli and there is very little mobile phone reception in the area, in case that matters for you.
