Well taken care of apartment which is located on the first floor of a beautiful indipendent Villa of only two units, set in a flower garden available to guests. The villa enjoys a fantastic view on one of the most beautiful views of Lake Como: the island Comacina. You can reach the island with a taxi service by boat stop in the local restaurant, which has hosted celebrities and actors of the show. The mild climate allows you to enjoy nice sunny days and cool nights. The apartment consists of a kitchen (complete with all accessories), lounge with fireplace, a bedroom, a bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom with bath, shower, washbasin, bidet, wc, washing machine and a fabulous terrace where you can relax with a glass of wine. There are iron, WI-FI and a small bed for baby. Nearby, reachable on foot in just 3 minutes, beaches for sunbathing and swimming. Only 5 min by car, you will find a beach with swimming pool on the lake. Nearby: Restaurants, Cafes, Market, bank, tourist office. You can take boat to visit the wonders of the lake by lake or reach Restaurants: very romantic, not to miss! The whole area near the villa is available for charming walks in the typical vegetation meditterranean scents and colors.

We spent a week in June-July in Sala Comacina. Valerie and Daniele were caretaking, lovely and excellent hosts. We absolutely can recommend their apartment to anyone who wants to enjoy the beautiful Lago di Como and surroundings on the west coast of the Lake. We really would love to come back again!

Very clean apartment on the second floor of a house. The host family lives on the first floor and is a very nice couple. The view is spectacular and all major tourist destinations are a short bus and boat ride away. It was an unusually hot week when we were there and the lack of AC or fans made it difficult at night. Overall a perfect family retreat.

If you’re looking for a peaceful spot away from the crowds, this is it. The apartment is immaculate and the views are spectacular. Our two teens enjoyed their room with the twin beds and my husband and I loved our bedroom with a view! The bed is very firm—too firm for my liking — but my husband was ok with it. The town itself has a small bakery just down the hill from the apartment plus a nice butcher and cheese shop. But you’ll need a car to get other supplies. We walked once to the nearest town with a grocery store (Lenno) and it was 45 minutes up and down steep cobblestone streets. In the car it’s just a few minutes. You can take a ferry around the lake but the ferries can be very crowded—standing room only—depending on the time, so plan accordingly. We visited Varenna by ferry and it was gorgeous; the city is wonderful to explore on foot. Just wear good walking shoes! Another highlight was Villa Carlotta in the nearby town of Tremezzo. Well worth seeing both for the gorgeous art and architecture as well as the gardens! After touring the villa we walked along the lake front to a wonderful grassy lido and went swimming. Highly recommend!

The location was amazing. Great views, easy access to walking trails and the village center. 5 minute walk to a small bakery and a small market as well as several excellent restaurants. 20 minute walk to a larger village with even more options. Bus and ferry service close by and very affordable. The hosts were very helpful. The property was quiet and peaceful. All in all - a perfect week for us.

The property was lovely. Very clean and the view was spectacular. It was very well stocked with the essentials. Valerie and Daniele were very nice and helpful. One piece of information- we didnt want to drive in Italy so we didn't rent a car. I think having a car would be very helpful as the property is remote and the ferries don’t stop frequently, and then you spend time on the ferries instead of where you want to be. Having said that we would love to go back.

It was a great stay! The hosts were lovely and helped us out with everything we needed (even reserved a restaurant for us!). The views are breathtaking and the balcony is perfect. Keep in mind it is very hot here in the summer (but they provided a few fans which was nice). Another thing to keep it mind is their parking is not meant for larger cars, but the hosts helped us park close by as it was a bit difficult. Overall, incredible stay - very recommended!!

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment in Sala Comacina. The apartment was convenient and everything perfectly clean. The location was good and very close to the Green Way. The view from the balcony was amazing and we loved enjoying our meals sitting there. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. It was very thoughtful and generous of Valeria to bring us a lovely tiramisu on my daughter‘s birthday. Thank you so much for that, Valeria! One point that might be useful to know is that it is perhaps advisable to rent a small car as parking spaces are rather tight (the car we rented was a bit long).

Valeria was very sweet Her home is just as described. The weather was fantastic ! We enjoyed renting a boat and paddle boarding. Our last evening we took the ferry to Bellagio and had a wine tasting. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Valeria and Daniele were very friendly, kind and accommodating. Although checkin in is 3:00 I asked if we could leave our luggage prior to check in and they quickly agreed! So nice to not have our luggage stacked in our car while we got ourselves acquainted with the area. They had maps, restaurant suggestions, directions to the store, gasoline and areas of interest. We would recommend this lovely apartment and would stay there again.

This was a wonderful experience and stay. Our highlight of Lake Como. First, the hosts are lovely people, very welcoming, helpful, friendly and hospitable. Daniela is always trimming an olive tree, working in garden, or in the yard overlooking town and lake. The 2 BR with old world charm, has everything necessary and was perfect home away from home. It sits up on a ridge and cobbled stairs take you down to the main road, waterfront for wine bar, several restaurants and Sandy beach where my husband took dip. The host, so friendly, gave a tour of his gardens and chickens and Valeria shared not only eggs but homemade delicious tiramisu! You feel like you are staying next to family. The view’s from the apartment are spectacular! We enjoyed our coffee and wine on the terrace and we could’ve just stayed with the view and we always looked forward to our return every day. The Greenway of the Lake is only steps from the address - an amazing experience to walk through the villages on it, and the walk to Tremizano and Lenno a highlight, arriving at the famous villa Balbianello-gorgeous location and gardens… taking the small boat from it’s port to Lenno on way back to enjoy late lunch on the water, great pizzas and salads on terrace and lovely walk back on Greenway. The best restaurant is right in Sala Comacina on lake, recommended by hosts, Locanda La Tirlindana. We enjoyed twice, sooo good. Day trips to Bellagio and Verano only made us appreciate the special village and home of Daniela and Valeria, away from crowds and so relaxing. If you are looking for an authentic beautiful experience and people on Lake Como, look no further! We hope to return one day to the Vaccani’s special guest home! From the very first correspondence with Daniele and Valeria they were very quick to reply and helpful when we had questions before arrival. The minute we walked into the house they showed us around the cleanest and most organized vacation home I have ever stayed in and they were very welcoming to our 2 small dogs that travel with us. The photos did not do it justice as the view of the lake is most spectacular and the surrounding villages were great to explore. We had a car which made it easy for us to get around but we saw many people taking the local bus and ferries. We also were able to rent a boat for 2 days which was another highlight and it was very convenient as it was just in the next town over from the house. Daniele also gave recommendations of local places for us to visit which came in very handy as they were not as touristy as Bellagio. We would love to visit again as they made us feel very welcome and at home during our stay, we were very sad to leave. Would highly recommend to others as it is a great location and easy access to other cities in the Lombardy region.

Stayed for 5 days with our teens. Apartment has everything you need & is in a great location with a beautiful view. The hosts are very kind and welcoming. We did not have a car but were able to explore Lake Como and surroundings using combination of bus, boats and walking. Sala Comacina is a small town with a great little beach if you like swimming.

We spent two weeks in this authentic apartment and we loved our time there and would happily stay there again. Valeria and Daniele are welcoming and generous hosts; always with a smile on their faces. The apartment is well equipped and the balcony runs the full length and faces the Lake and provides the most amazing views - day and night. Sala Comacina is small which suited us. No crowds. No tourist buses. But the walk from shore to the apartment could be a bit challenging. Sometimes we drove down. We ate at restaurants, we cooked ourselves and sometimes we arranged for Valeria to cook us a beautiful meal using home grown ingredients. Yum Yum. Thanks for a fabulous stay.

The views were spectacular even when weather was not. Valeria and Daniele were gracious hosts, picking us (and our luggage) up at bus stop as well as taking us to bus stop when we left. The apartment was lovely with balcony overlooking lake. Wi-Fi worked great. Getting around was easy once bus and ferry schedules figured out.

My friend Tami and I loved our stay at this lovely 2 bedroom apartment on the second floor. The bus ride from the bus station was a beautiful easy scenic ride and Valeria and Danielle picked us up where the bus dropped us off and we toasted our arrival with a glass of their homemade wine. The place was clean and comfortable with Italian country chic decor. We were given total privacy by the owners. The view is amazing, especially viewing it from the balcony with a glass of Danielle's home made wine. When too tired to explore dining, Valeria's cooking was scrumptious and filling. Although it was not on the lake it was not a far walk to the lake. One should know that there does not seem to be much of a bank to walk on the lake so this place was perfect for us especially if you like to walk to places. You can take the bus to some places of interest (Lennno, Messegra, Azzano,Tremezzo, San Giovani, Menaggio,Bellagio etc) but I suggest a motorship, hydrofoil, ferry or personal boat cus it is so amazingly gorgeous to see all the lake views along banks on the way to where ever you are visiting. The Island Sala Comacina is a short ride in boat across midway on the lake. A great place to explore or have a glass of wine while waiting for a ferry. A big thanks to Valeria and Danielle for their lovely hospitality. I will go back there one day soon I hope.

From the first emails with Daniele I knew this would be a warm and welcoming place to stay. Situated on the hill above Sala Comacina but easy walk down steps to town or walk the Greenway trail just behind their lovely house for constant views of the lake. We loved our stay here. The apartment was super comfortable for our family for 4. Views from the balcony are breathtaking and we dined out on patio all meals we had at home. The chorus of different bells in the AM was a highlight. We even found a city park so our kids could keep up with their soccer and basketball practice...of course also with a view! Many thanks to Daniele and Valeria for their hospitality (meal was so special) and we would love to return again.

This apartment, which consisits of the whole of the first floor of a family villa in a well-maintained garden, is self-contained and very well-equipped and comfortable. A real home from home with spectacular views of Lake Como from the balcony which runs the whole length of the apartment. The Italian owners who live below, Daniele and Valeria, gave us a very warm welcome and were very friendly and helpful. Fortunately they spoke English, as we did not speak Italian! The apartment was in a quiet side road, with off street parking, but only a few minutes downhill walk to the village with its shop, lakeside restaurants, bus stop and ferry stop. The supermarket in Lenno is only 10 minutes drive away. The apartment is a good base for touring. The ferry will take you acroos the lake to Bellagio and Varenna. We drove to Como, Menaggio, Dongo and into the mountains to Lago di Piano and down to Lake Lugano. The Greenway walking trail runs behind the apartment. We walked along it to Lenno where there are some good lake side restaurants and a market on Tuesdays. This was one of the best aprtments we have stayed in and we hope to return soon. Daniele and Valerie couldn’t have given us a warmer welcome or made us feel more at home. They are a charming generous couple and it was a pleasure to meet them. Valerie even made us a gorgeous tiramisu to welcome us. It was delicious! The apartment is on the upper floor and has the most spectacular view over Lake Como and I could happily have just stayed there all the time watching all the action below. As it was it was very comfortable for the three of us and had everything we needed including plenty of cupboard space and fast, reliable wifi. There was plenty of hot water and the beds were comfortable and when we had a very minor problem Daniele got it fixed straight away. On top of that Valerie is a superb cook. We took advatage of her offer to cook dinner for us and it was wonderful after a day’s hard work sightseeing! Thank you for letting us stay.

We had the best time ever in Lake Como and part of the reason was our beautiful apartment perched above the Lake. It was larger than expected, perfectly appointed and ideal for our stay with our 20 yr old granddaughter. Charming and extra friendly Valeri greeted us and showed us everything and then returned with 3 crepe caramels she made!!! We plan to return and would only stay at Sala Comacina! Thank you!!!

My wife and I just spent four weeks at a wonderful villa in Sala Comacini, Lake Como. The villa lived up to all our expectations: The photo's which are very good and which excited us in the first place to go there, do not do justice to the spectacular views from the bedroom, living room and balcony. The owners Valeria and Daniele lived downstairs in the villa and couldn't have been nicer. We had the entire second floor with a private entrance. They were there to help us if we needed them, including cooking meals upon request. They helped make our stay one of the most enjoyable vacations we ever had. Daniele make his own wine and will sell it to you for a very reasonable price. It was one of the best wines I ever had and would have had to pay four times as much to buy anything equivalent in the U.S. The two bedroom villa on the second floor is very well stocked with everything you could possibly need and has been meticulously maintained. The town of Sala Comacini is only ten minutes away from wonderful restaurants and a grocery store. It is a short five minute walk from the villa to the little town and the ferry to all points on the lake. We would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking to enjoy all that Lake Como has to offer. We give it a five star rating, Patrick and Louise Wiley

We spent 4 days at this amazing apartment the Views are spectacular and the apartment has everything you would want in the way of utensils and equipment. The apartment is very tastefully furnished. We ate some of our meals on the balcony overlooking Lake Como. We had dinner one night in the restaurant on the Island and had a fantastic time and meal. Valeria and Daniele the owners are great hosts and live downstairs on the property. They brought us some lettuce from their large vegetable area beside the chicken coup. We wish we had booked it for longer and will definitely return to spend more time at this spectacular apartment I doubt you could find better hosts or accommodation on the Lake. My, my wife and kids had a wonderful vacation at Sala Comacina in April 2013. Very good location for exploring the Lake Como by car and by boats. Free parking and WiFi is available. Wonderful views from the balcony of the lake and mountains. The apartment is very clean, well-equipped, has a fireplace, which we was happy to use. "We spent wonderful 4 weeks in this property in summer 2012 and highly recommend it for a stay. The house is very cosy, the views are superb and the hosts Valeria and Daniele are the frienliest people. Our 1-year old Alisa highly enjoyed playing in the garden, feeding the chicken and chasing the cat. The terrace as well as the garden are a perfect place to sunbathe during the day and watch the stars during in the night (beware of mosquitoes though). The kitchen is well equipped and I actually felt like cooking every day. Of course, there was always the option of delicious Italian food from Valeria and home-made wine from Daniele. The village of Sala Comacina, though small, is notable for some of the best views on the lake (we compared:). It has a small sand beach, which is not very suitable for adults but a good place for children to play. Also we found Sala Comacina to be conveniently located: it is not far from the town of Como, Milano and is also close to pretty villages Lenno, Tremezzo, Menaggio. We did not have a rental car (though highly advisable) but found it rather ok to travel by bus. Ferry is a great way to explore the lake. Unfortunately, they stop in Sala Comacina only 3 times a day (each way), but if you go to Lenno (like 5 mins drive), you will find boats stopping at least once each hour, from there you can go to Bellagio and Varenna. Overall, we highly recommend this property for vacation."

"The appartment is very comfortable and clean, kitchen is very good equipped. The garden is beatiful, the fruits and vegetasbles from the garden are delicious and the view from the balkony to the lake is like on the postcard. The hospitality of the owners must be marked with "5+".Just one small minus is the church bells, which ring every hour. However, to close windows helps. Besides of this, every village around the lake has a church with a bell."
