Lovely Old Stone Bastide With Private Pool, Short Drive To Beach

We had a simply fantastic time in this utterly charming villa! The property is maintained to a very high standard, with a fully equipped kitchen and extensive swimming pool. It's close proximity ( easy and pleasant walk) to Vence and other surrounding areas make this house a real gem! Clearly a property much loved by it's owners, whom we found almost as charming as their villa! We really do hope to return. Thank you again.

We absolutely loved our stay in Vence. The house was spacious and cool, even in the summer heat. The pool especially was a highlight of our trip for my teenage kids. The town of Vence was a short walk away for morning coffee and croissants, exploring the food markets and eating great meals at any of the restaurants. We hope we can visit again someday.

We had a relaxing stay at the Old Stone Bastide. The house is large and had plenty of rooms for us and our two kids. We were even able to use the pool a little in late Oct. The house is located on a grounds of a large condo complex, but we never noticed it. The furnishings are quaint and as the owner describes. Their property manager was very helpful too. Beautiful garden and patio to sip coffee or wine on.

The house Is situated about a15 minute walk away from centre of Vence, perfect for us as we didn’t use the car once. the house was large and very comfortable and extremely well equipped. The pool area was ideal as the pool house provided shade & there was also a good selection of garden furniture and a BBQ provided. The garden was enclosed so our dogs were safe too. We had a very pleasant stay.

My grown up family and I spent a week in this beautiful house in the lovely town of Vence. It was a fabulous week. The Bastide is old and gracious and very spacious, meaning that we could all relax and have our own space when we needed it. The garden is lovely, with lots of different 'areas', sun and shade. We stayed in mid October and the weather was excellent; breakfast by the pool every morning and early morning coffee and early evening wine on the little terrace. Lots to see and do round about and some outstanding medieval villages which took our breath away. Thank you!

My partner and I took the house for a week in August, together with 5 offspring aged between 9 and 22. The main attraction was the pool, which is great - long but not too deep, so ideal for all ages. We liked the character of the house, which feels like a well-loved second home for the owners: large, airy and comfortably furnished, with delightful, quirky, colourful paintings (I assume by a family member) on the walls, a decently stocked kitchen and vast sitting room/dining room looking out over a pretty garden. The ground floor stays reasonably cool even in August, though the upstairs bedrooms get pretty warm in high summer (there are fans and an a/c unit in the three bed room). We found the location very convenient for strolling into Vence (lovely) and exploring the Cote D'Azur. Being so close to the centre of town also meant that the older kids could be independent, especially beneficial in the evenings. It's worth pointing out that there's no wifi. That didn't bother us, especially as the mobile coverage was good enough for all our data requirements, but most people seem to expect it now. Also, when we were there in high season, there was a level of activity and noise going on in the domaine pool and playground which are a little distance from the pool area, though everything goes quiet at lunchtime and in the evening. To be fair I think we made at least as much noise on our side of the fence.

We enjoyed a great family holiday in this charming home. It really felt like a home, not just a holiday rental. It matched up to the photos and description very well, but was even more charming in real life. It is a very spacious house and as we were 9 people we had plenty of space both indoors and outdoors. There are so many options of where to enjoy the outside space - we had a yoga session on the lawn each morning whilst the kids played in the pool, and others had leisurely breakfast just above outside the kitchen under the olive tree. The trees and flowers were very beautiful all around the house. The pool is as described, a large rectangular shape so great for proper length swimming and easy for all ages to get in and out of. The sitting room is very large with many different areas to enjoy in it - tv watching, reading corner, large table and chairs. A very calming atmosphere and cool. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed and in great quantities too! There were plenty of sun loungers/cushions/chairs and tables etc for our large group. We felt the house inside was shaded enough to not miss air conditioning. Personally I prefer no air conditioning where possible and the fans in the bedrooms were more than adequate. Just the kids room upstairs does require the air con - which was provided. The house is perfectly located in Vence too. It is great for going by car to discover the region as it is only 2 mins to the roundabout that leads to the coast or further inland to places like Paul de Vence or Grasse. It is only 5 mins drive to the large supermarket Leclerc which was perfect as we had BBQ nearly every night! And it is only a 5 minute walk to the free shuttle bus that can take you into town - for elderly guests or small children this was very convenient. Alternatively it is only a 10minute walk into town anyway. We went in to Vence a few times but were much happier to have our meals at the house as we had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves thoroughly. The house feels like it has been lived in like a home, with character and decoration throughout. Personally I prefer this than a modern type villa with no personality. Also in relation to the price it is good value for money for this area and with the space all around and the pool, we couldn't have asked for more on our special family holiday!

We had a nice stay, Vence is lovely but the property is very dated and lots of appliances etc were not working. Beautiful garden and lovely pool but whole look spoiled by ugly fence around pool. I know it's a legal requirement but it could have been done in a much more sympathetic way. Also on the website one doesn't see that the house is literally in the middle of a development of flats. This didn't matter too much but I do think it should have been mentioned. The decor of the house felt very tired and quite eccentric - I have never seen so many vases of plastic flowers...Also on a practical note upstairs has incredibly low ceilings - not good for tall people.

Situated in a quiet domaine a few minutes walk from the old town of Vence we had a wonderful 2 week stay during which we attended our son's wedding. The large pool and terrace was perfect for barbecues and entertaining family who were also staying in the area. The house felt like borrowing a friend's home rather than a holiday rental - well stocked and cosy. The Cote D'Azur whilst within easy reach feels a million miles away. Highly recommended.

Lou Paradou, a 4 bedroomed house in a gated Domaine in Vence, may be a little hard to find, but its definitely worth it! This is a house more like a main residence than a holiday rental with 4 bedrooms large kitchen and spacious living and dining area. The grounds are fantastic with private pool and a number of terraces to sit out or take in the sun. 5-10 minute walk takes you to the centre of the old town of Vence, an authentic French market town full of interesting nooks and crannies. Welcoming without being too touristy Vence is a great place to relax and let the world go by and a great centre to visit surrounding villages and the nearby Cote d'Azur. Can't recommend the house highly enough......5 star accommodation! One small request - a welcome pack would be well, welcome, particularly when arriving late on a Saturday.

We were a party of 9 including two young children. The house was perfect for our needs and had all the facilities we needed. The house itself is very attractive, there a lovely gardens and a fabulous, large pool. It is situated within a complex which gives a sense of security, and is only a short walk to the centre of Vence, 10 mins walk for croissants, a restaurant or just a stroll through the old town!

La propriété fut très propre. Accueil et suivi impeccable. Douche de la chambre des Maitre entièrement rénové. Cuisine fonctionnelle bien équipée. Très grande piscine propre et beaucoup d’espace extérieur pour profiter d’un souper la fresco. Seul petit point à améliorer demeure l’espace autour de la piscine et patio extérieur qui faudrait balayer ou passer souffleur. A part cela, tout fut top! Nous avons adoré notre séjour! Merci pour votre magnifique villa et la chance de remonter dans le temps avec cette demeure historique! Brad

Cocon entouré d'immeubles plus modernes, très calme et à l'abri des regards du voisinage. Manque d'éclairage extérieur, entre la maison et la piscine.

Impossible de se connecter à Internet. Séjour très perturbé dû au fait que l'on était obligé de se rendre en ville.

Très belle demeure ancienne avec un beau jardin et une grande piscine. Certaines pièces de la maison sont très agréables (salon séjour) et la literie confortable. La maison est pleine de charme et très bien située (on peut se rendre facilement à pieds au village) mais j'ai regretté que la description ne soit pas tout à fait conforme aux lieux (il n'y a pas de climatisation de la maison, mais un climatiseur d'appoint dans une chambre) et il n'y a qu'une cabine de douche, ce qui n'était pas très clair dans le descriptif. Certains éléments du mobilier de jardin devraient être changés et le wifi dans la maison serait un vrai plus. Mais dans l'ensemble, c'est un lieu plein de charme et reposant.

Nous étions deux familles avec les enfants de 11 à 15 ans. La maison est très bien orientée de sorte que on a presque pas vu les autres habitants de la résidence. Elle ne manque rien. Merci beaucoup!!

Bon séjour et bel accueil, il serait nécessaire d’installer internet dans cette maison, vu la taille du lotissement l’lnstallation ne doit pas être bien complexe.

Séjour très agréable dans cette grande demeure où l’on fêtait nos 50 ans avec un ami. Belle piscine et beaux jardins. Seul bémol, elle est entourée par une copropriété dont les les propriétaires n’aiment pas le bruit généré par les enfants jouant dans la piscine ni la musique que nous avons mise pour cette occasion.. (Nous avons fait notre possible pour ne pas trop deranger) Nous cherchions une demeure tranquille et isolée mais les photos sur le site ne montrent pas les immeubles tout proche… A part ce bémol, nous avons tous passé un très beau séjour 👍👍👍

Wij hebben een geweldig leuk verblijf gehad in dit sfeervolle huis dicht bij het mooie Vence. Het ontbrak ons daar echt aan niets, mooie ruime woonkeuken met alles erop en eraan. Een geweldige mooie sfeervolle woonkamer / eetkamer/serre en met buiten overal leuke zitjes. Super ruime slaapkamers ook al zo sfeervol ingericht. Lekker schoon zwembad en zelfs de bbq stond al klaar. Leuke mail contact gehad met David en Elisabeth en ze gaven ons zeker een warm welkom en gastvrijheid. Met 9 personen een top week gehad .
