About this house rental
Ready for a great lake vacation? This bright, adorable cottage is just what you need for an idyllic beach getaway. Nestled near quaint Grand Mere Park, you'll be steps from the beach, sand dunes, fishing, walking trails, and parks. This cottage is close to the dozens of wineries and craft breweries in southwest Michigan. After you enjoy all Grande Mere has to offer, you can relax on the large screened-in porch, or prepare dinner in the spacious, modern kitchen. This cottage boasts an open, airy floor plan, and two cozy bedrooms, so you can have a great night's rest after fun-filled Lake Michigan days. The cottage sleeps up to 6 adults with 1 queen bed, 1 full bed, and a queen sleeper sofa. While this cottage is not lakefront, it is only a 5 minute walk from Lake Michigan public beach access. We are located off I-94 just a short 90 minutes drive from Chicago, 2.5 hours from Detroit and 3 hours from Indianapolis.
Please note that current water levels have caused some erosion on the nearest public beach as several trees fell into the water. Most of these trees have been cut and cleared but there are still some portions of the trees/brush on the beach. The beach is still accessible and useable, however it is not as picturesque due to the erosion. There are also two other beaches very close: (1) Lincoln Township Beach which is about 1.5 miles away at 3655 N Lake Path, Stevensville and (2) Grand Mere State Park which is 1 mile away. Note that at Grand Mere State Park it is about a 15 minute walk from the parking lot to the beach. Other great beaches in the area are Silver Beach in St. Joseph and Weko Beach in Bridgman.
The beach is still useable and the beach conditions could change at any time based on the weather and tides.

The host was very responsive. The property is clean and cozy. The location is close to several sights we wanted to see.

This property is walking distance to two beaches. One is less than 2 minutes away. You have to climb down some big rocks, and the beach area is really small, but it's got a cool, cozy vibe (and I imagine there are rarely other people there). We watched the sunset from that spot one night. The second beach spot is larger and slightly further but still very close, but the majority of that beach is private property (and the owners have put up a ridiculous number of signs as reminders). We spent a lot of time at this spot. The house is a classic cottage with a nice screened in porch area. The only thing to be aware of is that the one bedroom connects to the main living space (i.e. living room and kitchen), so it wouldn't work as well as a place to have kids sleeping while others are awake (for example). The owner was very responsive, and we had a great time! We're considering coming back next year!

Lake michigan cottage not a great description without reading the fine print. No instructions on how to use the heat and property manager did not respond work directions until 2am
