The apartment in Lucca is centrally located and the private parking space for the car is a coveted advantage when staying within the walled part of this city. When entering the city, use the Porta Elisa for easy access to the apartment. Be warned of the ZTL limited car access zones when driving in or out of the city. We parked the car for 3 days and just walked around Lucca and explored its many different shops and restaurants. There are Michelin star restaurants within a 5 minute walk from the apartment. We enjoyed dinner on the first floor bedroom balcony and quiet moments on the patio, just outside the large entrance door. We would definitely recommend this place for a stay in Lucca.

- the mattress is very hard - I'm sure this is cultural as we northern Europeans enjoy softer mattresses but we both felt our backs after a few nights!
- it's amazing we can park at the house - would just clarify in the directions upfront that you can pass the ztl camera without any issues given the camera is turned off to avoid any confusion

It was not the host's fault that the streets were closed. We had a very difficult time getting to the property because of the closures. The host finally found us and lead us to the property having us drive through a pedestrian walkway.But the real problem with the property is an incredibly uncomfortable bed. A new mattress should be purchased. We left a day early because we needed a good sleep.
