Casa Sariñena

A great location, with views of the sunset from the rear of the house and views of the flowers at the front. Diagonal views of the village centre, with a lovely restaurant just round the corner. The house gives a flavour of old Spain. The photos don't do it justice; they can't convey the history, the culture, the variety which this place brings. Exceeded our expectations! We were worried about the lack of air conditioning, but in fact the electric fans in every room were almost as good and ensured we slept well despite night temperatures of over 20 C. Day temperatures of >35 C were managed by the traditional blinds on every window, which help keep it cool. There was a traditional internal chimney vent by the stairwell, to draw air out of the house. You can get a cross-breeze on the upper floors of the house at night by opening windows on both sides. The kitchen has an extractor fan to remove heat, and a door to close to keep heat from cooking separate from the rest of the house. Overall the house was surprisingly cool, even in a hot summer. Some of our party booked the air-conditioned rooms in the hotel next door, but felt they would have preferred to stay in Casa Sarinena because you can make drinks in the kitchen, have space to move around, and be more comfortable overall in the house. I appreciated the large entrance room where we could leave our canyoning and climbing equipment. There's lots of space. A great place.

Loved the comfy sofa and chair, which sat 4 of us! A few more comfy chairs would be even better, but can't complain because the atmosphere of the place was so relaxed and authentic. The dining chairs were perfectly ok for those too slow to grab the sofa!

Es un pueblo pequeño y muy tranquilo, aunque tiene restaurantes donde comer o tomar algo. Hay un parque cerca para que los niños jueguen. Muy cerca de Alquezar. La casa dispone de todo lo necesario para pasar unos días de vacaciones. Hemos estado muy agusto y volveríamos a repetir sin dudarlo. Agradecer la amabilidad y hospitalidad de la dueña.

La casa está distribuida en cinco plantas (baja + cuatro alturas). Nos daba miedo por si los niños (4 años) se pudieran caer. Pero no ha habido ningún problema en este sentido.
