Clean property, comfortable. Fantastic view from small balcony. A/C unit works well. Access to beach is challenging, steep and uneven. No beach chairs or umbrellas. Property not far from city center, with shopping and restaurants. Ask for unit number when you arrive for efficient check-in.

The apartment is a great value. Very functional with a perfect location, offering a breathtaking view from the terrace on the sea bay, just a few minutes’ walk from a secluded beach, not crowded at all even in the top season. The place is very clean and equipped with everything one may need during the stay. It is run by fantastic, cordial and helpful hosts, Antonio and his son Fabrizio. It can be recommended to families like us or small groups. We will return again for sure.

I truly cannot express in words the genuine hospitality that Antonio and his family extended to us new Turista Americano. My wife and I that is. So, the next guest can have a unique experience as we did, I won’t reveal all and spoil it for you. However, it was our very first time in Scalea, Calabria as well as Italy. Although this is a VRBO our experience was not one of a business transaction. Antonio treated us as guest in his home and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable for the 8 days we spent there. For those shy trying to communicate in Italian, he will make sure it's not a problem. If you want a true Neapolitan Margherita “pizza” in Scalea he can tell you the place. Beautiful historic sites, he can direct you to that too.Casa Marea – The apartment was exceptionally clean, also were the linens and towels. The washing machine perfecto! Both bathrooms functioned perfectly. Every appliance we felt we needed served our needs. The balcony view! That peaceful, serene view alone would have been enough if that’s all we had but of course it wasn’t. The support from Antonio and his family as well as the comfort of the apartment are worth much, much more than the small amount to rent it. Hopefully we were good guest as well! Thank you again, Antionio, Paola, and Fabrizio. This will not be our last visit to you. We will return. Your hospitably and guidance is one of the main highlights of our trip to Italy. The booking and check in process were easy. Our host, Antonio, met us at the apartment even though we were delayed for several hours. The location is in Baia del Carpino, with gorgeous views of the Mediterranean. Because we stayed off-season, some shops and restaurants in the area were closed, but everything you need is just a short drive away. We really enjoyed our stay.
