About this villa rental

Quite simply the best of views: overlooking Cap Ferrat, the Rade of Villefranche and Beaulieu bay , there is the constant movement of boats and sails against the blue sky and turquoise sea. The villa is situated in its own gardens with pool, shaded seating and eating areas, roses, cacti and palm trees. Inside is a generous sitting and dining area, a fitted kitchen and sleeping for 12 arranged as follows: master bedroom , double bedroom and twin bed room all with en suite bath/shower rooms and air conditioning are in the main house. On the pool level are two further bedrooms - one double and one twin both with en suite shower rooms and one has an en suite bunk room. In the garden is a guest house with a double bed, en suite shower and air conditioning and stunning views.

The house was amazing so was the town. We took Uber rides into town. We ordered food online and it was delivered. Everything was very easy. Would recommend.

We stayed in this lovely and indeed very spacious villa with family and friends. We were 8 people in total. The villa was beautifully and personally decorated, the kitchen was fully equipped including coffee, milk and spices. So we often enjoyed cooking with fresh fish from the market. At the end of our stay (it was April) we even had breakfast on the terrasse with a wonderful view to the sea and neighbouring Cap Ferrat. We managed to also do some swimming in the pool. The outdoor area is beautifully landscaped. With all the beauty inside the villa and outside, we almost preferred staying on the premises instead of doing seightseeing.All in all, a generous villa, very clean (with cleaning 3 times a week) and a superb surrounding.We'd certainly love to come again. A big thank you to Tamsin and the owners for sharing this place with us.

Our family had a wonderful week. The views were outstanding and the villa was spacious with plenty of room for everyone to enjoy. Our host Tamsin was very responsive and helpful and we appreciated the well equipped kitchen stocked enough to get us going.

Our large family and additional friends enjoyed our stay here. The property is built into the hillside overlooking the water. There is a lovely long and steep path, leading down to the water and old town. Parking is available for multiple cars on the street. The house is more beautiful with a better view than can be pictured here. The kitchen is fully stocked even with spices and other necessities. The host left fresh flowers in different rooms for us and checked in regularly. We felt very comfortable with our young children and the adults alike. There was plenty of space for everyone to stay. We didn’t even use all the bedrooms. There are 7 bedrooms and bathrooms in total. Even in October, the pool was comfortable to use and we enjoyed our time both inside and outside. They had laundry machines available to use. I hope we can come back again sometime. We are already recommending the house to other friends. It is one of those properties that exceeds your expectations.

Beautiful home, spectacular views. 4 couples stayed in this home. The pictures don’t do the views justice. The views and outdoor living spaces are outstanding and make the house what it is. We didn’t use the pool because of the cool season but I could see the fun we could have had in the pool area if only the weather cooperated. The living space is adequate for our group and we loved the fully stocked large kitchen. The views more than make up for the uphill climb from the village. If the climb is too much just take an Uber. The only thing the house lacks is location in terms of easy access to restaurants and grocery. It’s a 15 min walk down hill to the village, 20+ min returning because of the uphill climb. I’m in good shape and I still felt the climb. There are 2 additional bdrms under the main house on pool level that our group didn’t use and I wouldn’t care to stay in because the rooms are windowless with the exception of windows in the doors with window coverings to keep the room private to the hallway. U must lock yourself in because the hallway is not able to be locked from the outside, but they are en-suite and right outside the pool. I smelled a not so pleasant odor from the hallway on the pool level, not so much in the rooms but not sure as no one stayed in the rooms below the house. The ensuite cabana above the main house has spectacular views. My friend and his wife loved the cabana. We all loved our stay in this home. I could have stayed longer.

Such a beautiful villa with spectacular views! The house and outside areas are gorgeous and is so well appointed with anything you might need. We had 7 friends and we had plenty of room with so many areas to relax and eat. And the area is perfect!

This property is magical. This is not an understatement. We had 6 couples (1 with a 8 month old baby) staying with us for a 50th birthday. There are 6 bedrooms as well as a 7th small room off a bedroom with bunkbeds. We used every square foot of this property that is very large. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. We cooked in 3 nights (awesome butcher down in the village). Spent every night on the outdoor terraces. Even the landscaping is magical. The pictures don't do it justice in my opinion. The views of the sea are amazing. The location is amazing (it is a short walk with steps and incline to the village, but it's the perfect amount for exercise). I cannot recommend this property enough.

We had an amazing trip staying in this wonderful home! We felt transported and treated to a true Côte d'Azur experience. The house is fully equipped with anything we needed. And it's absolutely beautiful ! The walk to town was easy and the walk back up the hill justified all the croissants and treats we enjoyed. Villefranche had great restaurants and we explored many of the neighboring towns, as well. Having Tamsin and Christian's help and advice for everything from restaurant recommendations to where to get a gas can if you run out of gas. Such friendly, responsive and helpful service. We miss it already and hope to return. The Hughes Family

The home was wonderful and the location/view unrivaled. it is breathtaking. It also comfortable and so well equipped. The manager and other staff were friendly, and so helpful. You won't want to leave your terrace, but Villefranche is a wonderful town and Nice/Monte Carlos so close. It is a hike back up the hill from town, but here is Uber if you need it. I never "rate" anything online. But this deserved the 5 star acclaim.

The pictures of this property don’t do it justice. It’s beautiful and well stocked, the terrace and the gardens with the view are like something out of a fairytale. The property manager and housekeeper were so helpful and everything went smoothly. We absolutely hope to be back!

Great introduction to Villefranche sur Mer great location the view from the patio is the best no restaurant will have a better view greatly enjoy coffee on patio every morning simply the best! Be prepared for a challenge in walking back up the stairs as they are a great workout.

We stayed with a large group of family members, and this villa was the perfect base to experience the Côte d'Azur. The views from every room in this super sized villa are exquisite, and even with twelve of us there was plenty of space to gather or to enjoy the views in privacy. A short drive or uber ride to Nice, Monaco, Eze, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat or even Cannes. Tamsin was super responsive and she gave us many great recommendations. We will definitely be back, but for a longer stay next time! Thank you for sharing this amazing home!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the villa. Considering there were 11 of us of all ages there was plenty of space for everyone inside and out. A short walk down hill to town, train station and bus stop. Visited Nice, Monaco, walked round Cap Farat, so much to do. Just to be aware the only problem was when walking back to the villa there was a lot of stairs and the older ones amongst us found that could be quite taxing at the end of the day, however there were plenty of Ubers so these were often used. All in all could not fault the villa at all. Thanks to Tamsin and our cleaning lady.

We stayed here for a week in the summer and had the most wonderful time. The villa has the most incredible views and everything you need for the perfect stay. It is a short walk down to the shops, the beaches and the markets. Tamsin made the whole process smooth and was a great host. We all keep raving about our time at La Vigie and can't wait to return.

My family of five (three teenagers) just returned from a phenomenal stay at La Vigie. It is a spectacular property with incredible views of the harbor and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. This was our first visit to Villefranche, and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the town, beaches, and surrounding areas - but our favorite part of the visit was just enjoying the house and the property - drinking wine on the terrace, lingering over breakfast while watching the boats in the harbor, and floating in the pool surrounded by the lush gardens. Tamsin was the perfect host before and during our visit, and Maite was incredibly kind and helpful as well. We hope to visit again soon! Until then, we will be forever grateful for the special days spent here.

This is a beautiful, tasteful and well maintained property with stunning views. I had booked this pre Covid and so was very pleased to finally be able to come and stay at La Vigie with a group of friends and family as a special catch up. The property was easy to find and we were all very impressed with the setting - the pool was absolutely gorgeous. We did not want to drive so the combination of being able to walk into the village, very plentiful and cheap Uber taxis and proximity to the train which we used to go up the coast was good. We used private caterers twice for celebration meals and these were excellent. I used Carrefour twice for home delivery groceries but strangely they only brought non-perishables (on both occasions) which is worth knowing as both of the Petit Casino shops in the village are a bit limited. There is a good selection of local restaurants in the village with plenty of choice - we only had nice meals. All in all a relaxing trip. The housekeeper Maite was very kind and helpful too

Words can not describe how amazing our stay was! The villa was even more beautiful than the pictures. Every view from the house was absolutely stunning!!!! Booked this amazing magical villa for a special family celebration pre covid! (8 adults and 2 new babies). All communication from start to finish with Tamsin the property manager was superb really helpful and she extended a very warm friendly welcome. The house and the views are simply magnificent and the photos and video we took couldn’t capture the magic of the house and it’s setting. The quality of the rooms, the furnishings (indoor and outdoor) was of a very high standard and anything you could need / wish for was provided. The kitchen had everything we required and more! Great workspace and fully equipped to cater for a large group. The outdoor BBQ was a big hit with our young family as was the terrace and its exceptional views, during the day and in the evening. Despite us being a large group we all felt we had our own space across the accommodation and our family all commented on how comfortable the beds were. To top it all our two young granddaughters (17 months and 5 months) loved their first experience of an outdoor pool which all the adults made the most of too! The secure garage and nearby parking made life very easy for us. Maite visited 3 times during our week to keep the house in order and was a lovely woman who took the time to chat with us and the two little ones especially. We would love to have stayed longer and would thoroughly recommend a visit to this magical house !

We had an absolutely amazing stay here! It is just as represented by the photos. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend, and the village and beaches are stunning too. We managed mostly without a car, the walk can be tough with all the hills and stairs but there is a bus and train connecting to all the other towns and Nice. I only wish we had more than a week here!

A lovely property. Very well equipped. very comfortable. Spectacular view over the bay and St Jean Cap Ferrat. You can see Corsica on a clear day. If you are into gardening, the garden is full of interest. Tamsin was very helpful and quick to respond. The cleaning team are lovely. Very much hope to go back one day.

This villa exceeded all of our (very high) expectations! I couldn't imagine a better place, or view in the French Riviera. The house is just a short 10 minute walk to the train station, which was convenient for day trips to other coastal towns. We enjoyed the weekly market in the park, and exploring the old town of Villefranche-sur-Mer. All were accessible within a short walk. Tamsin was very communicative and provided lots of recommendations. Maithe was so sweet and kept the home clean and even helped with our laundry. The house is stocked and well appointed with anything you might need. Look no further, this is THE place! We would love to return one day.

My desire was to spend my 50th birthday in the South of France with great friends where we would be a train ride away from neighboring towns by day and be able to relax and enjoy leisurely dinners in the evening. This gem fit the bill! This property was perfect, as it had bedrooms and private baths for each couple, a large kitchen for meal preparation, and a beautiful family room and dining room for our evening enjoyment. The views were beautiful and could be enjoyed from multiple flower-adorned sitting areas outside. Tamsin was extremely helpful and ensured that we had everything we needed to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. We will be back!

Communications and flexibility shown by Tamsin were excellent as well as services and recommendations by Maité. The property checks all points: comfortable, clean, freshly painted, well decorated and furnished residence with high ceilings with views to die for! Horticulturist dream of a garden attached to the sculptured mountain rocky flank! Many garden decks and balconies to appreciate the views sheltered by the cliff hanging garden! Key discoveries not enough mentioned in the property description were a magnificent well decorated and lit garage, a two person lift saving 50 steps, electrical shutters to provide safety, light and sound isolation by electrical shutters offering deep sleep in an urban setting and a lovely garden cottage with panoramic windows in two directions! My son’s favorite room! We will definitely return! Thank you Tamsin and Maité!

The villa was simply incredible! We stayed for a week and were so sad to leave. The location is very central along the riviera and allowed for easy day trips, but our favorite activity was staying in! The views from the multiple terrace levels were panoramic and the mature gardens were beautiful. We ate most of our meals at the large table on the terrace so we could enjoy the view. The kitchen is stocked with anything you could ever need and more, and the house was spotlessly clean. Tamsin and Maithe were both great. This is truly the best short term rental we have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in many). We would absolutely love to return!

We stayed at the property with several family members ranging from 12 to 78 years. The house is excellent, inside and outside. The terrace is lovely, we had all our breakfasts, lunches and dinners there. The petanque lane was great for family fun. The views are stunning - this is a great place to spend quality time with large families. Every room has a bathroom and AC. The communications with Tamsin was fantastic at all times. Can't recommend high enough,.

We have rented a lot of luxury properties through VRBO with family and friends, and this place is like no other. The views of the coast from this property are like none other. We visited Nice, Monte Carlo, Eze, etc., and when we returned to this house, we wondered why we left. It is incredible. The kitchen is wonderfully stocked and is a joy to cook in. Tamsin and Maite were incredibly gracious and wonderful to work with. We hope to book here again.
