Villetta sullo Scoglio

I really liked the location, right by the sea, although you definitely need a car as there are no shops nearby. We arrived at the property earlier than the check-in time with some food, and the host was very understanding and accommodating. She kindly let us put our food in the fridge and stay inside while we waited for the cleaning to be come, which was especially appreciated as it was extremely hot outside. The host, who lives upstairs, was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. She even gave us some pasta when we realised we had forgotten to buy some, which was a lovely and thoughtful touch. Internet is quite slow, but if you’re looking to completely disconnect from everything, it’s not really a problem. The one-bedroom flat is quite cosy and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We really enjoyed our stay and loved being so close to the sea. The host was very kind and accommodating. We would happily stay here again.

I only have a few small suggestions that could make it even better. The private outdoor shower could really do with an update, as it’s quite difficult to use. It would also be great to have a better indoor shower and a shower curtain. A couple of sun loungers would be a nice addition too, as there are currently only beach chairs available for relaxing and sunbathing.

The apartment is in a great location, right on the beach. The beach itself is a lovely sandy bay with coves and rocks to explore at one end and a kite-surf school and beach bar at the other. The beach isn’t very busy, especially at the apartment end - lots of space for everyone. The apartment is basic, but good value for money, but it is wise to pack as if you are camping - you will need to take your own wine glasses and washing up liquid as well as shampoo, shower gel etc. Generally a great place to stay, a lovely location close to interesting sites. The owner is very helpful and gave us lots of ideas for places to visit.

The shower is a hand held one so a bit tricky for washing your hair, but we all survived! I would also take extra tea towels as the apartment only comes with one which isn’t enough for a week. There is parking onsite although reaching the house can be a bit tricky on weekends when the beach is busier as the roads are narrow and steep which isn’t helped by lots of parked cars.

Le site est merveilleux et vous n'avez que quelques pas à faire pour vous retrouver sur une plage immense de sable fin. Un pur bonheur. Un peu loin de tout mais avec une voiture on peut visiter de merveilleux lieux ( villa romaine de Casale, Raguse, Modica,...). De très bon restaurants à Licata à environ 20 minutes de route. Climatisation parfaite et nombreux accessoires pour se reposer ou aller sur la plage. Et Rosalba est une hôte très prévenante. Bref tout pour passer de merveilleuses vacances en bord de mer loin de la foule.

L'accès au logement est un peu délicat car la rue est très petite et pentue mais avec de la précaution tout se passe très bien. Le wifi et la connexion TV est un aléatoire et faible mais on ne vient pas pour ça. Attention aussi avec le kayak qui semble prendre l'eau.
