The accommodation is situated in a quiet and peaceful location, on the outskirts of the village, yet only a 10-minute walk from the center. The house features a beautiful garden with olive and walnut trees. The accommodation offers a comfortable and pleasant stay. We would love to visit again.

First of all, we appreciated the hospitality, kindness and discretion of the hosts throughout our stay. They welcomed us warmly, offered us a bottle of wine, and provided us with recommendations for places to visit in the area. The most serious issue was a very strong and irritating smell, similar to combustion fumes, which appeared every morning at around 6:00 a.m. The apartment is located in the basement, and the technical room is right next to the entrance. The smell was strongest in the bathroom, which shares a wall with the technical room and has no window, only a ventilation system. From there, the smell spread throughout the rest of the apartment. When the smell was present, the air became almost impossible to breathe. It was extremely irritating to the throat and airways and created the sensation that it was difficult to take in enough air and breathe normally. In order to be able to breathe comfortably, we had to leave all the doors open and ventilate the entire apartment. For this reason, we believe that this issue should be investigated seriously, including from the perspective of the health and safety of guests. Another aspect that caused us considerable discomfort concerned the privacy of the apartment. Inside, there are two permanently locked doors that appear to lead to other areas of the house. We understand that these rooms may have a different purpose, but we did not know what was behind them or whether there was access from the rest of the house into the apartment where we were staying. This concern became more concrete on the first day. After realizing the problem with the smell, we left the door leading to the basement terrace open when we went out, in order to allow the apartment to air out. All the other doors of the apartment were locked. When we returned, the terrace door had been closed. We had been told that the house security system had to be activated whenever we left and that we were not allowed to leave the terrace door open.
Therefore, we understood that access to the apartment had been possible through those two doors connecting it with the rest of the house. For us, this was uncomfortable, as we did not expect the space we had rented to be accessible from other areas of the house while we were away. We are not suggesting that there was any inappropriate intention, and we understand the need for the house security system. However, we believe this aspect should be clearly explained to guests upon arrival and, ideally, mentioned in the property description. Guests should know in advance whether there is access from other parts of the house into their accommodation. Regarding check-out, we also had a less pleasant experience. On the morning of our departure, we felt considerable pressure to vacate the apartment exactly at 9:50 a.m. We understand the need to respect the check-out time, but the way this was handled made us feel pressured during the final minutes of our stay. A slightly more relaxed approach would have been appreciated. We chose not to raise these issues during our stay because we wanted to enjoy our holiday. On most days, we left in the morning, between approximately 8:00 and 10:00 a.m., and only returned in the evening, around 8:00–9:00 p.m., in order to spend as little time as possible in the apartment and make the most of our time in Greece. In conclusion, we genuinely appreciated the hospitality, discretion and thoughtful gestures of the hosts. However, the strong smell every morning and the issues concerning the privacy of the accommodation are important matters that, in our opinion, should be clarified and addressed before the space is offered to future guests. It is a shame, because with a few improvements, the overall experience could be much more pleasant. Not worth booking a holiday in Greece to spend five nights in a basement apartment with a strong irritating smell from the adjacent technical room, limited privacy due to access from the hosts’ part of the
