Monte Borboleta - Villas, Apartments

Lovely hilltop location with superb views south to the coast. Small cluster of buildings set in landscaped grounds. Upper level apartment with attractive interior using traditional materials and features, including raised ceilings. Relaxing and comfortable pool area. Having lived in the Algarve for many years I can say the local information provided by the hosts is well researched - accurate and comprehensive.

Whilst the interior of the apartment has rustic charm, the use of curtains between rooms is a nuisance (particularly between living area and bathroom/toilet). Cramped kitchenette space (but we tend to eat out anyway!). Access to the property is partly by unsurfaced road, with some steepish inclines (not unusual in the Algarve!). Sorry we didn’t get to meet the hosts.

Breath taking view over the Algarve to the Atlantic Ocean. Stunning landscaping. A truly authentic villa up on the mountain. It was a quiet location, an oasis away from the cities, which was exactly what we were looking for. The hosts were very welcoming

The internet was weak at times.

Delightful and helpful hosts. Nick and Mia came to meet us on arrival even through our arrival was late in the evening. They remained equally good and attentive to any of our requests for information or assistance during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to do and show us more than they needed to of their beautiful property. It is truly a wonderful place in a beautiful location and we didn't see anywhere else, either property or location, throughout our stay that we would have preferred to stay in! It really is a little haven of heaven.
