Corfu Villa Potamaki

Nice quiet area, close to local shops and café’s. Really good place to stay in.

There could have been a full length mirror for when people (especially the ladies🙈😉) get ready to go out!

La Villa está totalmente equipada, nueva, muy cómoda y agradable. Estuvimos muy bien. Si lo llegamos a saber, la alquilamos más días, para poder ver la isla con más tranquilidad.

El apartamento está en un sitio muy tranquilo. Es muy grande, está muy bien equipado y muy limpio. La ubicación perfecta si tienes coche de alquiler. La anfitriona es muy agradable y dispuesta a ayudarte en lo que pueda.Totalmente recomendable para visitar la isla.

The weather was great, the sea was just perfect and the food at all tavernas we visited was delicious. Also the fridge/freezer worked a treat! I wish there was more to like. I don't know what other people imagine under "🏠 Entire villa" but the dictionary says a villa is a large luxurious house. We just wanted "a house". It didn't have to be large or luxurious. Just bright, clean, reasonably quiet and safe for our children to play around, as they can't handle all day out on the beach. This "Two-Bedroom Villa" is a small, dark, ground level open-concept apartment at the back of the owners house with no views whatsoever, nothing to do and nowhere to relax. We've been to other Greek islands 4 times before and this is the first accommodation that felt claustrophobic and unpleasant. The place is already showing its age and the wide-angle pictures are misleading and old. Especially the bathroom where things are slowly falling apart. There's a terrace with a view of a yard with parked cars, a staircase, a bush, a fence and buildings. Cars and motorcycles are passing right by your bedroom windows, as the yard is used by other guests and residents.

Here's the summary of what to expect (also attaching pictures): 1. There's A/C in the main area but not in the two bedrooms. Those have a noisy tower fan each. 2. The bathroom towel rail is rusty with paint chipping off. 3. The bathroom sink drain is covered in limescale and the tap is wiggly. 4. The Greek toilet paper myth lives on in Corfu Villa Potamaki (60+ years after Corfu became a major tourist destination) - you're not allowed to flush used toilet paper. 5. The radio control panel in the shower is so broken it has holes where buttons used to be. Thankfully the power is disconnected. Also the shower head holds position only thanks to water pressure. 6. They don't replace your bed sheets or towels. 7. They don't clean the apartment or the terrace at all. It's a "benefit" that will cost you a whopping €30 each time. 8. The Internet there either works or it doesn't, and the mobile reception is very poor there too. 9. Not a "quiet location". There's a rooster doing his thing at 7:30 every morning and the noise from the road was something else too. It sounded like a motorbike race every other night. We're a family and we were looking for a house so that we don't have to share walls with noisy youngsters. We got them right above us and we had to put up with their loud burping and horrible music before they left for the night and then stomping when they returned. I went to talk to the host one morning about the Internet and the loud burping, but no one answered the door, so I gave up on talking to the host. We chose this place over an entire bright house in Notos because it seemed that each child would have their own bed in "villa" Potamaki and the pictures made it look bright too. What a major mistake! Corfu Villa Potamaki "Two-Bedroom Villa" is not for families with young children.
