About this house rental

It is perfectly suited for families’ holidays and get-togethers, those guests seeking outdoors adventure, and for everyone, a brilliant place to relax and enjoy the location’s stunning scenery, the breathtaking sunsets and the myriad of stars on a cloudless night.

Local businesses offer bike and kayak rentals, allowing guests to explore the local area and enjoy the views and activities right outside Tigh Na Breac's doorstep. The house provides a tranquil retreat yet remains conveniently close to Oban for shopping and amenities.

Upon entry, the hallway features coat hooks, shoe storage, bench seating, and an adjoining restroom with a shower.

The heart of the home is the expansive vaulted living space (8m x 8m), highlighted by a floating hearth and a substantial log burner. It boasts ample comfortable seating for 14 people, complete with a sound system compatible with CDs and iPods, and an extensive CD collection for your perusal and use. There is also a large collection of books and games for your enjoyment.

The modern kitchen has extensive storage, a double drawer dishwasher, fridge, freezer, an induction hob with five rings, two large ovens, and a sizeable grill. In addition, there's a Quooker tap for instant hot water, negating the need for a kettle, alongside a filter coffee machine. There is ample crockery, cutlery, and glasses. The kitchen is very well equipped for all you will need. It is a fantastic place to cook whilst enjoying the company of other guests.

The dining area has a sizable refectory table that sits 14 comfortably, with stunning views of the Loch and sunsets.

The house comprises 7 bedrooms, including 5 doubles and 2 convertible twins/doubles, all featuring super-king-size beds, while the master bedroom delights with a bed measuring 7' x 6'6" and a luxurious en-suite bathroom. A total of 6 bathrooms are available throughout the property.

An additional TV room offers cozy seating, a smart TV, DVD player, a cupboard full of DVD’s to keep all ages entertained and this room also has a log burner.

Outside a substantial 2.4m deck around three sides of the lower level Tigh na Breac, offering stunning views across the Loch, accessible via French doors from the TV Room, Master bedroom, and Baxter suite. There are two bench seats (cushions indoors) and some Director’s chairs to enjoy the space and views from the balcony, a fantastic place for an evening drink or a morning cup of coffee.

There is an additional snug/reading room with lots of books and a quiet area to relax and read.

For nature enthusiasts and otter spotters, the bay has been known for otter sightings, including solitary otters, mothers with cubs, and even, on rare occasions, the fathers. Although sightings are subject to weather and tide conditions and cannot be promised, many guests have captured remarkable videos and photographs.

For bird watchers, the house is a prime location to observe White-Tailed Sea Eagles, Buzzards, Eider Ducks, Goosanders, Red Breasted Merganser, Mallards, Herons, as well as rarer species such as Peregrine Falcons, Merlin’s, and Golden Eagles, there are many other birds to be spotted. Further up the loch there is a seal colony, and they often play in the bay in front of the house.

Fishing opportunities are bountiful both in sea and freshwater, with notable catches recorded in Loch Etive. Anglers at the house have easy access to rich fishing spots, including where shoals of mackerel have been caught from the shore. Boat hire is available through Taynuilt Boat Hire, with delivery options straight to the nearby jetty.

Bonawe is a lovely location. Plenty to do in the area & close enough to take various trips to the nearby islands, visit Glencoe, Oban & Nevis. This is a gorgeous home, sensitively renovated with all mod cons & plenty of space for a family of all ages to be together & separate spaces to hang out too. Very well stocked kitchen. The location is very peaceful. Some distance to shops but owner gave good advice about pre-booking Tesco delivery.

It’s hard to put into words and do justice to the beauty that is Tigh Na Breac. This was the most idyllic place to spend a weekend, and we could have stayed forever. A group of old friends and I had planned a weekend away together after not being able to get together for a long time, and this was just the most perfect setting to do so. The house, location and Andrew’s help made everything even more enjoyable. The Scottish weather even played in our favour and we were graced with beautiful sunshine for most of the weekend. I cannot recommend a stay in this beautiful part of the world more. It was an easy drive from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, directions given by Andrew prior to check in were helpful and easy to follow. The house is stocked with everything you could need, especially the kitchen, and this is an ideal place to come with friends or family. The discovery of the small ‘pink shop’ as we dubbed it about a 15 minute drive from the house was very helpful for any little extra bits we needed. All the rooms, bathrooms and overall cleanliness of the house was perfect when we arrived. The terrace that wraps round the front of the house serves as a perfect sundowners spot, one night we even spotted a stag walking right past us on the road! There is a great selection of activities, walks and so much to do around, we did a fishing trip one day that was much enjoyed by all. A huge thank you to Andrew for being such a helpful and gracious host, we will be back!

A great property in a fabulous location and very well equipped too. Andrew was extremely helpful and responsive and we were made to feel welcome and valued. Red deer stags walking past your front door, a sighting of a pine marten, eagles soaring overhead and an otter swimming in the mirror like water. A little taste of paradise!

The approach to the property alone sets the scene for an experience. The property is lovely with so much room and many amenities. The view across the loch was breathtaking. Lucky enough to see deer and seals from the bedroom windows. The house stayed warm through the storms which even for the area were pretty extreme according to the locals. Absolutely nothing requires complaint it was a brilliant property. Definitely great for hide and seek lol
