Scala | The Rentals Collection

Worst Check-in system. We were informed to collect the key from a Key Lock Box. We got to the location and followed instructions sent and got a message that Code deactivated. Checkin is at 3:00 pm. We thought as we arrived early we could collect the key so that we can checkin in at 3:00 pm. As the key lock box did not open we went to the office location given on the booking. we got to the office location and there was a message on the door that office has moved and assigning a new office address. We then got the new office location and the lady said you cannot get the key until 3:00 pm. So I said between all the distances we can never checkin in at 3 pm it will be 3:30 by the time we walk back to the location to check in. By 2pm we got a message that the key is ready for collection. We went back to the key lock box and we got the same message stating code is deactivated. We called the office and they said their system is showing that key has been collected. I had to send a photo of the message appearing on the screen for her to believe that key was not there. Ultimately i got a email that someone will come to the lock box location with the key. This was so bad. Apart from the bad experience of check-in the apartment is lovely, clean and as is in the pictures. The apartment is on the ground floor. There are few steps 10 stps to get to the ground from the time you enter the building. There was a stair lift if you have issues climbing steps.

The location was excellent for our trip. Someone met us at the unit which was nice after traveling from the US. We ate and drank at the restaurant, bar and cafe right below and up the street which was so nice! There was even a small store close by. Our daughter lived a block away which is why we booked this unit but I’d recommend to all travelers. Instructions for the TV in English would be nice. We did not understand how to sign into our Netflix. I would give more instructions on where the washer is located and more instructions to use the washing machine in English! Having a few laundry soap tabs would have been helpful. Also some coffee pods would have been appreciated!

Great location for surfers with close proximity to beach. Noise (which other renters had made mention of) was not an issue for our 4-night stay. The location of the apartment is not close to the town’s affluent areas. Mgmt were super helpful and friendly.

This was our second year renting via Rentals Collection. The service was great, the apartments are always beautiful with all the kitchen appliances and utensils you need for a comfortable stay. We loved the convenience of the washer dryer, as we didn't have to pack clothing for multiple weeks. The area is gorgeous with the beach across the street. Me and my son surfed with the school directly under the apartment. Supermarkets and restaurants are walking distance. We has a wonderful 2 week stay, and will be back next year. We visited a nearby town Zarautz, (20 minutes away), that also has an amazing 3 kilometer beach. We surfed there as well. Overall, one of our best vacations ever. If you like oysters, make sure to stop by Ostras by Komal in the Old Town for delicious fresh oysters.
