Afife is located 10 Km from Viana do Castelo, one of the most beautiful cities in Portugal .
The Afife Stream House makes a good base for exploring the Minho region , the north of Portugal and Galiza (Spain). It’s only 60 minutes away from Oporto, Braga, Vigo (Spain), and 50 minutes away from Guimarães and other towns.
Oporto airport is 50 minutes away (72Km)
Afife is part of the Portuguese Coast Way of Saint James so you could walk from here, follow the yellow arrows and do this pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostela (164 km).
The house is located 2 Km (6 minutes driving distance) from a long and beautiful beach, where you can do water sports, there’s a surf school, a small beach bar, trekking trails, horse riding and other attractions.
There's also a clear water stream next to the house, ideal for a swim, a walk or just sit and relax listening to the cascade nearby.
Basic amenities have been provided including clean bedding, fresh towels, bathroom supplies, and more. You also have full access to the house and garden.
Our kitchen is at your disposal. Feel free to use our cooking ware, utensils, and appliances as needed.

This genuinely gorgeous stone house, with its wonderful tree filled garden and river side position was our home for two weeks. I almost dread writing this because it is such a stunning place that I suspect it will soon be difficult to get a booking for it! However, it deserves to have its praises sung - the wonderful small river running next to it, the barbecue and lush garden, a million places to sit and read, write or just relax, set amidst the cobbled backstreets of a sleepy seaside town, in cycling or driving distance of an array of absolutely wonderful beaches and good restaurants, full of silence at night, deeply quiet in the early mornings, but still alive with local people and their lives....I can't think of a better place to spend real time when you need to unwind, but don't want to be out in the middle of nowhere. I could imagine having a writers retreat here - it certainly encouraged my own reading and writing....thank you so much. The family who owns it are very kind and make sure everything in it is working - they are discreet but always available to give advice and help out with questions. Kitchen well stocked, movies for cooler evenings and a dvd player - but the blessed absence of wifi which meant we really spent more time with ourselves and not just endlessly online....thank you, Afife Stream House, I miss you already and will definitely try and come back!!!!
