The house was built on a site that was once a 50’s streetcar diner (eventually donated to a transportation museum in Maine by the former owners). The Little House was built new in 2003 on the original footprint. It is a one-bedroom, open concept cottage. It has a “vintage” style bathroom with claw-foot tub and shower, a laundry closet with washer and dryer. The cottage has “city” water. Each of its spacious rooms has ceiling fans, including the bathroom. For the summer there are also 2 air conditioning window units for comfort. There is also manually operated baseboard heat for chilly mornings or nights. The kitchen boasts of a new stove and refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee maker plus an island with two stools and a table with 4 chairs for sit down meals. There is also a table and chairs wrought iron set on the porch for outdoor sitting or dining convenience. Dishes, glasses, pots and pans, and utensils are supplied. There is one bedroom with a king-size bed and one twin and in the living area, there is a queen hide-a-bed couch. Linens are available for all beds and the bathroom. There is also a walk-in closet for clothes.
The house has an internet and basic cable TV. The television is a smart TV with Hulu and Netflix built-in so renters can easily access their own accounts for additional entertainment. The cottage is “pet friendly” (the porch is gated on both ends) though it is recommended that all pets have their own beds/crates, litter boxes, etc. and must be contained if left alone. Dogs over 75 lbs are discouraged and birds are prohibited.
