About this house rental
East of Eden is the perfect cottage for a romantic getaway or a fun-filled family vacation--in all seasons. The cottage has been impeccably restored and has it own private yard. It is a large one-bedroom, with well-equipped kitchen, full bathroom, and a beautiful open air living room with vaulted ceiling and skylights. After a beautiful sunset over Lake Michigan, come back and snuggle up with a good book next to the fireplace.
Inside and out, our cottage is the perfect retreat. Nestled amoung 100-foot tall Norway Spruce pines, it is only a block to your own private 'singing sands' beach of Lake Michigan. Union Pier beaches are the softest and widest in SW Michigan! And, it is only a block and a half to great little bakery and breakfast places, coffee and latte shops, unique restaurants and even fine dining. Or you can just stay at the cottage, sit on the front deck, grill your own favorite fare and watch the passer's by.
We are centrally located in the heart of Union Pier just off of the main road into town. Easy to get to, and easy to go to other attractions such as the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, various seasonal Art Fairs, Fruit Farms, Antiquing, or just 'Heading up the Red Arrow Highway'.
**Please note that we do have a 2 night minimum, however in the high summer season we rent mostly for one week increments from Saturday to Saturday. We do try to accommodate as many people as we can. Sometimes in the early weeks or later weeks in the summer we can accommodate less than 7 nights. Please don't hesitate to inquire if we can. Thank you.

The perfect summer cottage.

This sweet little house is just a 5 min walk thru a quiet neighborhood path that leads to some stairs down to a beautiful sandy beach. We are an older couple so we took a long morning walk on the beach and through the neighborhood, enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and took a hike at Warren Woods State Park (not much to see there though). Families with young kids parked their supply wagons at the top of the stairs that leads to the beach. It is a very quiet stretch of public beach because it’s tucked back into a neighborhood and there’s no on street parking back there. The cottage is non fussy and clean with one bedroom and a pulldown Murphy bed in the large living room. There is no side or backyard just the front yard with angled parking spots right in front. Had everything we needed for a short stay. There is plenty of neighborhood food and treats that we could have walked to in about 20 mins but we chose to drive and explore for food. New Buffalo is right down the road about a 5 min drive away for groceries and supplies. This cottage was just what we needed for a short getaway!

This is a great cottage. It was our second time staying there. The walk to the beach is short, the other neighbors have always been quiet and nice. It's a great location, close to the beach and in a very walkable and bikeable neighborhood.

Not crazy about the parking, they definitely need to get a new lock on the front foor! It was a struggle to get in the house every time! No dishwasher. Could walk down a trail to the neach, but for people in their seventies, steps down to beach too difficult if carrying items! Town is cute, we did go other places to shop, nice restaurants and bakery close by and Warren Dunes ! Good antiqueing! Dogs enjoyed the walks!
