About this house rental

Pinecroft shares an eclectic style of contemporary and traditional to create a relaxing environment for all to enjoy after a day on the fells or just staying in and reading a good book. Owner enjoys collecting original art with many paintings to enjoy. Accommodation consists of large open plan kitchen / diner with lots of natural light and stunning views, large living room with log effect gas fire, 2 double and one single bedroom, master bedroom has a small ensuite with shower and the main bathroom has a lovely, highest quality steel bath and a large 'walk in' shower. A regular comment from many guests is that Pinecroft feels like a home. Pinecroft is not overlooked and outside you will find a long driveway providing for ample parking. In Nov 2025 a NEW Electric Vehicle charger has been installed. There are mature gardens all around with large patio areas on different levels. There is a purpose built BBQ area and also a bike shelter with secure anchor points. There are a few water features including a lovely fish pond which is less than 3' deep and surrounded by shrubs. Views from the patio and the dining room are wonderful as you look west over Keswick to towards Grisedale Pike where the sun sets. In November 2023 we created a large level patio area that extends from the driveway up to and around the property, this is a major improvement with beautiful new slip resistant paving making the access step free (see photo's) and much easier for those with mobility concerns. plus plenty and a variety of seating areas to enjoy.

Reviews..... Please note that over the last 18 months PC has been in the hands of a local letting agency called Keswick Cottages. They are nolonger being used. Vrbo reviews are prior to this time however guests can be assured that recent reviews have all been highly complimentary.

Transport... Conveniently and just about 100 meters away is a bus stop where you can catch a bus to take you into town or alternatively walking along the old railway line (now a footpath) is about a 20 minute walk. Abit further down and around the corner there is another bus stop for those wanting a day trip to the South Lakes, Ambleside etc.

Lovely bungalow which gives a home from home feeling, the owner Roger met us at the property when we arrived and was very informative. Ideal for visiting different places in the area and also lovely walks straight from the door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it as a place to stay.

Loved the property and location and the owner of the property was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay immensely. Only problem with the holiday was being able to communicate with the property management company as they could not contact us as they had wrong email information. It did not matter in the end as we spoke to the property owner and he was very helpful and obliging.

We absolutely loved staying at Roger’s home in Keswick! The three of us had plenty of room, all of the amenities we needed, and a beautiful garden courtyard to spend time together. It is a nice walk on a footpath to town, and a short distance to the Castlerigg Stone Circle. Roger was very helpful and gave us great recommendations for our stay in this gorgeous area. We hope to get back there again!

Despite the rain we had a fantastic time in this excellent property. Well equipped and maintained professionally. My wife has limited mobility and was able to move around the property using sticks and a walker with no issues. The large bathroom has a walk-in shower which she could easily use with a shower seat as she was able to walk right up with the walker. There is seating outside on the patio which is also accessible and a shallow slope from the drive to the property. The surrounding area is stunning and we didn’t need to travel too far to find places to visit. Keswick Pencil Museum, Theatre by the Lake, Derwent Water and the railway walk were very close and well worth a visit. The owner was easily contactable and flexible with our checking out time which was really helpful. Highly recommended.

On arrival we were greeted by the owner who gave us some helpful information about the cottage and surrounding area. We stayed here for 6 nights whilst on a hiking trip. The directions to the cottage were spot on and the cottage itself was clean with good facilities especially for walkers/cyclists as there was an outside area for bikes and muddy shoes, clothing. The cottage had a washer/dryer, wifi, sky, good basic equipment in the kitchen and the bedrooms were clean and very comfortable. The bathroom had a lovely shower and bath tub too. Keswick is just a 20 minute walk/5minute drive and the views surrounding the cottage were stunning. This was a great area central to everywhere we visited and there were good facilities in the town including supermarket, nice pubs/cafes and shops. We would definitely stay again.

Couldn’t have been better. The property had everything you could need. We loved the well stocked board game cupboard and sky tv! It was really clean & cozy. The garden space looked lovely - unfortunately we arrived in December so couldn’t enjoy it but I imagine in summer it would be perfect. Good views from the property. It’s about 15 minute walk into Keswick, but a few minutes drive. We will definitely book again!

We had a great stay in Keswick at this property. The house is a short walk from the centre of the town and also near an entry point into the Keswick to Threlkeld cycle path which is a great walk along the river and away from from the traffic. The property was just what we needed. Well equipped, spacious and with a good outside space which was used as we had some good weather. The front of the house is near a main road, but sitting in the lounge at the back you couldn’t hear any road noise. The drive way at the back of the house has plenty of space (could probably fit 4 standard sized cars) so parking for the 2 cars we had was ample. Lovely property, would certainly look to rebook here if/when we head back to The Lakes. Communication with the owner when needed was first rate.

The bungalow is lovely in scenic surroundings. It is mis- advertised as disable friendly. Needs ramp into property, a seat and grab rail in shower. Steps are not accessible for someone in a wheelchair. But cannot fault the kindness and care of Roger the landlord. Also not secure for dogs.

We felt at home from the moment we set foot in Pinecroft. During our extended stay, we looked forward to returning to its comforts after our hikes and tours of the day. The walk into central Keswick is quite enjoyable via the footpath that was once a railway line. We found this to be an excellent location from which to explore the wider area and there is much to do and see in the immediate vicinity. The drives to Honister Mine, Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage, Beatrix Potter’s Hilltop home, Windermere, etc., were beautiful and relatively easy to navigate. Although the home is situated near the main road into town, it is such a lovely house and garden, we didn’t take much notice of the traffic. The master bedroom is very quiet.

We stayed at this property due to doing a hike for Macmillan and found the location to be ideal. Whilst we were walking my Mam was looking after our little boy and our puppy. She mentioned that the railway walk was perfect and they had a park near by which was ideal. Bus routes to Keswick were also situated at the bottom of the road (5 mins to Keswick centre) or a 20 min max walk. We loved the fact we could bring along our dog too! This was an added bonus! The garden was lovely - I even found a beautiful little spot to do some yoga outside on the morning we left. The Bungalow was beautiful and clean! The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. A definite 10/10 for us. Roger (Host) mentioned he was upgrading the garden a little more but as it was only a few days stay we really didn’t see it as an issue. Only thing we would say which isn’t even bad - is that My Mam mentioned Roger came around on the Saturday night to feed the fish and do some gardening! But again, this isn’t a criticism it was just an observation. Vicki

The bungalow was well equipped, very clean and larger than expected with ample space for family to gather together. Located in a lovely neighbourhood, it was a good 15-20 minute walk into Keswick centre along a good paved pathway. Communications with the host involved a bit more work and the outdoor space wasn’t really prepared for entertaining yet, but walking straight from the door to the circular track up Latrigg was wonderful.

My two sons and I had a very enjoyable stay at Pinecroft. It is very well appointed and equipped rental property in a nice neighbourhood within easy reach of Keswick town centre with it's many restaurants and pubs. Plenty to see and do in the area. Hopefully, we will return soon.

Pinecroft was perfect for our time in Keswick, for exploring the lakes and fells around Derwent Water and the Buttermere Valley. A quiet location within a 15-20 minute walk of the town centre, Pinecroft was clean, spacious and well equipped, and it has great views across the fells north and west of Keswick.

We stayed here as a family ranging from 10yrs to 78 yrs. The process before arriving was easy with the owner always available and answering questions. The checking in process was easy as we met the owner on the day who was incredibly friendly. The accomodation inside was immaculate and very spacious. Can not fault this cottage one bit. The outside needed a bit of attention but this was explained by the owner that he was in the process of updating things bit this didnt affect our stay one bit. We would 100% stay here again.

I would definitely stay again ,only thi g it's says on the Web site sleeps six but only sleeps five, as two doubles and a single, this did not bother us at all as there was three adults and one teenage daughter with attitude as we all know they are at 15 years ,had a great time there ,and the garden is fantastic, view's out of this world of the mountain's, hope to stay again ASAP ,
