The beautiful city of Saranda, which is located in the far south of Albania provides a special atmosphere and a unique style. Located in front of the Greek island of Corfu, Saranda is now mostly visited by day trippers who come to enjoy the weather unicoDelizioso apartment in Saranda.
Distance from the sea 400 m. The beach and the center of the city you have access to walk in less than 10 minutes.
Saranda is accessible by car, taking the ferry from Ancona - Igoumenitsa and then 1 hour driving towards Saranda. By plane with direct flight Airlines flying from Rome / Milan to Corfu or Tirana, and then by ferry from Corfu to Saranda (25 min). The vacation apartment is within walking distance from the port of Saranda - 2. 5km away.

Butrint
Just south of Saranda it is one of the most important archaeological sites in the Mediterranean, the ancient city of Butrint (open 8:00 - sunset, admission 700 lek), a National Park and UNESCO World Heritage site.
Thousands of years of settlement by Neolithic tribes, Illyrians, Greeks, Trojans, Macedonians, Romans, Byzantines, Normans, Angevins, Venetians and Ottomans have left their mark. The city was abandoned relatively recently, in the Ottoman period, and was later covered by vegetation and forgotten.
Other than the famous sites in Greece and Turkey, Butrint is largely intact, with pieces of brick sticking out of the ground here and there, and woods that offer a romantic atmosphere. excavation work is in progress, and you will see the mosaics protective sheets and other works of art.
Yet, there is much to see: the well-preserved theater, the temple of Asclepius, the remains of a large Roman house, an early Christian baptistery and a church, the 'Greek times Pozzo di Nymphs, and some massive walls of the Illyrian town. Climb the acropolis a beautiful view of the site and the bay. Now you get a good brochure at the entrance, and there are also great new information panels throughout the site.
The beautiful lagoons, marshes, forests and olive groves of the National Park can be explored on foot, by boat or horse with CISP, an agency of the Italian eco-tourism (tel. (Phone number hidden), - (website hidden)).
Several buses run to Butrint day (50 lek, the main square in Saranda, Butrint through the hotel, 30 minutes).
Other things to highlight
Ferries to and from Corfu are operated by Ionian Cruises, who have an office in Saranda (tel. (Phone number hidden) (website hidden)); ferries to Saranda depart daily at 10:30 and Tuesday to Sunday at 16:15. A one-way ticket costs 19 €.

Summary of reviewsThe owners are very helpful and kind, the house is clean and brand new with everything you need. Hot water is always available. There is also a mini market downstairs for your convenience. We had a great stay, highly recommended.

I proprietari sono molto disponibili e gentili, la casa è pulita,nuovissima con tutto il necessario e cosa da non sottovalutare a Saranda, l' acqua calda è sempre disponibile. Sotto casa c'è anche un mini market per ciò che ti serve. Ci siamo trovati bene, la consigliamo.
