The comfortable Rural House, near Douro river and beautiful Douro Valley and vineyards, Porto and others historic locations in Portugal, like Amarante or Guimarães. Near National Park, Gerês. Easy access from airport. In the farm you will find woods, gardens, vegetable gardens. A complete immersion in nature and peace. The house is fully equipped. My partner and I stayed here during low season in winter. We were a bit scared that it would be too cold inside the house but the host put two heaters and it was warm enough inside.We had access to a large garden on the property and were allowed to pick oranges, lemons and kiwis. The host was also very generous in letting us walk around the entire property. There are also two friendly dogs and two cute cats living there that often come to visit the guests and ask for a snack.The only downside we found is that some things on the property are a bit dirty and dusty, but we understand that we came during low season and were therefore not expecting the place to be in a pristine state.We worked from there and we can confirm that the Internet is fast and reliable (around 200 Mbps), so it is well-suited for remote work.The main nearby towns are Amarante and Marco de Canaveses. Amarante is very picturesque and has a long history. It's also known for a variety of pastries, one of which has a dubious name. M. d. Canaveses has a rather industrial look and is a bit ugly, but you can take the train to Porto from there and it will take you around one hour, costing ca. 10 for a return trip. We also loved Vila Real, which lies to the East and can be reached by car in around 35 minutes if you take the Marão tunnel. This tunnel had tolls but they were removed at the start of 2025.All in all a wonderful place to have a quiet vacation or workation in Northern Portugal.

La casa llevaba sin limpiar... Años. Me parece bien que la idea sea una casa de campo, pero una casa de campo en la que los huéspedes tienen que pasarse limpiando una hora solo la habitación para poder dormir no es para mi
