About this apartment rental
For the moment, Madeira is very popular, especially Funchal. The nights can be noisy, especially on weekends and holidays. The small streets fill with people, and the nights become very lively. If you're looking for peace and quiet to relax, you shouldn't book this small apartment, but if you enjoy life in an old city, you'll feel right at home in Pimpinela—completely renovated!
Located in the heart of Funchal, a few steps from the municipal market, bakeries, bars and restaurants. Access to the ocean just around the corner. It is an ideal place for people who like to be in a traditional and old part of the city. It is always full of life!
The old town is very lively, especially on weekends and bank holidays. People are out to meet in the alleys to enjoy life. There is only one thing left to do: to celebrate and take part in the joy of life!
This is a typical place of the old city where people still live. Bars and restaurants are some of the neighbors, which means that this area is full of life. You will be able to find tourists mixed with the local population that includes fishermen, bakers, street vendors, cooks, etc. Do not expect complete silence as it is a very central place where people live, walk and talk. Be part of it and feel the happiness of an old historical center.
This apartment is part of a small building that has been totally renovated. It is situated in the old part of Funchal. We call it "Casa Pimpinela" which is one of the most typical vegetables of Madeira Island. This vegetable is green and that is why our decor includes green items that bring excellent contrast to the walls and white furniture. Being an old building with solid walls, Casa Pimpinela never gets cold in winter.
There are some books on the shelves for the guests. If you wish, you can leave your books already read in it. What's more, you can use Wi-Fi.
Especially for small children, we can provide a crib for newborns up to about 4 years of age, baby carriage, high chair etc.
Casa Pimpinela is perfect for 2 adults and one child until more or less 4 years.
Hair dryer, bathroom towels and beach towels are available in the apartment.
The central bus station of Funchal and the famous Monte cable car are about 400 meters away from the apartment. To get to Funchal from the airport, you can use the AEROBUS (Praça da Autonomia). This station is just 600 meters from Casa Pimpinela. The AEROBUS costs € 5.00 p. P. one way and return € 8.00 p. P.

Feel and treat this home as your own. Smoking inside the Casa Pimpinela is not allowed. Obligatory cleaning every second week for longer stays (more than 15 days). Cleaning cost due to the customer (€35 each time).

The kitchen was fully equipped and had everything you needed and more. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, i found it ideal. Close to restaurants and 2 small shops with most things you need. Not more 2 minutes walk, and cable car less than five. As described it was a bit noisy at weekend. But did not bother me, the only thing some people might not like was the lack of natural light. Basically only light from front door. This did not distract from enjoying my stay. I thought it was a excellent and would thoroughly recommend. The contact with Sonja was very good ,and replied promptly to all messages. I used Bolt to get from airport as it half the price of a taxi. This was also a good service ,just for info.

I was extremely happy with this clean, well kept little apt. In the middle of it all. I could walk to many restaurants, ocean ,short walk to famous market and large grocery store just opposite the market. Could not have a better location Prepare for a little music noise Friday and Saturday night but you are away to feel the atmosphere so I enjoyed it.I would definitely return so I think that says it all,Francoise

The apartment is ideally situated for us at end of the old town just three minutes walk from the coast and a myriad of excellent restaurants close by. Since our last visit the owners have upgraded the kitchen and there is now a full oven, dishwasher, and clothes washer/dryer. Which makes life easier!It is ideal for a couple to stay.

The description of the apartment is accurate. Ideal for us as it gave the option of some self catering and eating out. A month is too long to stay in an hotel whereas an apartment gives one flexibility. There are a myriad of excellent restaurants within a stone’s throw of the apartment. Our one comment on the kitchen equipment in the apartment is that it would have been nice to have an oven rather than just a microwave.
