Casa Bela Vista, Swimming pool and sea view

The holiday home was fantastic. Super clean and spacious with two bathrooms. Everything was available in terms of equipment to make a pleasant stay possible. There was even a dishwasher in the kitchen.The view from the terrace was beautiful, Contact with the landlord was very pleasant and you received an immediate response if you had a question.

We have been very happy to stay there, the owners greater us with fruits from their garden, the house was equipped with anything we needed (however one additional fan would be helpful during hot nights). There was one additional bathroom not mentioned in the description which looked like freshly finished! We loved that! Just to be aware: - keep all food in the fridge as ants are going to come for a search but this is normal everywhere in village houses. - lots of lizards we enjoyed watching - tv is not a smart tv so you can’t connect it to wi-fi to watch something from the internet. - if you rent a car please don't rent an automatic with small engine as it wont be able to get to the house through the very steep lane that google put as on. Instead, ask Jorge to meet with you under the church and follow him as there is an easier way to get to the house but Google Maps is not showing it as a first choice. In overall we fully recommend it!

Firstly the positives: the splendid view over the village and the sea from the terrace, a clean and (for two persons) quite spacious property all on one level, ample towels and linen, a good wifi connection, a welcoming posy of flowers and lots of the owners' own locally grown fruit presented every week. However the property could have won us over if only it were better equipped: too few kitchen utensils - e.g. only three (blunt) kitchen knives, no scissors or tin opener - and an oven and hob which even the owner couldn't remember how to work when we eventually had to go upstairs to seek assistance. (An instruction leaflet would have helped.) It will be noted that there is no photograph of the bathroom - perhaps because it is too small and poky, with the only available standing room being restricted to a small mat no bigger than 90 x 45 cm and the toilet basin being positioned too close to both the wash basin and the door thus hindering easy use of either. The weather at the end of January/beginning of February was often grey, windy and chilly and the single small mobile radiator was insufficient to warm us on some evenings so we finally had to ask for a second, which just about sufficed. The house therefore often felt and smelled damp and it was difficult to dry towels and washing indoors. The television is advertised as including international stations but we couldn't find any up-to-date British programmes. We doubt whether, in the height of the mid-summer sun, there would be enough shade for four persons given just the one sunshade and no other shade but four sunlovers may be disappointed to find only two loungers and a small patch of grass. The photos of the outside of the property suggest the garden and driveway are much larger than they actually are; the garden needed weeding. Note that the lane to the house is extremely steep (1:3 in places and quite narrow); whilst a hire car is essential, a small model is advised and anyone walking directly from the house needs to be fit!
