The location is great, right in the centre of Stratford, and the heart of the hotel is a lovely old building. The rooms are nicely designed.
We asked for a quiet room. The request was logged months ago and we were assured on check-in that it had been honoured. In fact, we were given a ground floor room right by the street with little or no soundproofing. It felt like passers-by were talking by our bedside, and that cars were driving through our room.
Breakfast was ok, but the hot food, ordered at and served to our table, had clearly been under a warmer in the kitchen and was dried up.
Most service people were good, but the check-in person seemed disinterested.
