About this house rental
Welcome to Dunnabridge at Rakaia Huts.
The only rental accommodation at the Huts on the North side of the river.
Close to the townships of Southbridge & Leeston if you are attending events in the area.
A family bach with all the facilities you will need for a family weekend away for a bit of fishing or some peace and quiet.
Plenty of places to sit in the sun to enjoy a book. Walks in any direction.
If fishing is your thing then you have easy access to the Rakaia River.
Try for a Salmon, Trout or Whitebait (in season)
Not into fishing. No problem. Enjoy peace and quiet to do your own thing, walk, read, sit in the sun.
Bring the kids as plenty of entertainment. Great selection of board games, jigsaws, DVD's or playstation. No option of getting bored. Fully fenced.
Would recommend sturdy walking shoes for trips along the beach. It can be a long walk to the river mouth so easiest access option is four wheel motorbike.
Dogs OK (outside) as long as you tidy up!
Boat ramp is public facility at lagoon. 500 mts away
Very limited connectivity for internet and phone. There is as long as you stand in the right spot.
Special conditions:
Plenty of blankets for extra warmth if required.
Plenty of firewood supplied for fire.
Kitchen consumables supplied (Tea, coffee, sugar), some basic pantry items plus cleaning products.
NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave; Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);

We loved staying at the Hutts- it catered for our dog and was very handy to everything South Canterbury had to offer. The batch was setup for the owners so wanted for nothing. We have our dog sleep outside in a cage and it was great that she know we were sleeping just on the other side of a ranch slider. The close proximity to the river and fresh water lagoon were of real interest to us and great to exercise and swim/wash the dog- she has never smelt so good or more precisely her odour is nowhere near as bad as normal.Steve was great/prompt with communication and queries meaning we could not fault the place or our experiences.We thoroughly recommend staying here particularly if you are travelling with a dog that likes exercise and water - its perfect.Thank Phil and Jane
