About this house rental

Named for its giant beech trees, The Beech House is a modern, sunlit home with gorgeous views of the Catskills. All are welcome to come, relax, and unwind in our warm, open, comfortable home. The Beech House sits on 4 lush acres, off a quiet lane, just an easy walk to the village of Millbrook. The Beech House is perfect for relaxing or playing, for staying in or going out, for couples, or friends, or families. We absolutely love it, and it is our great pleasure to share it with you.
A RATE NOTE: The rate that VRBO has posted above and under Rates & Availability is for 2 guests. If you have more than 2 guests staying, you will see an additional guest/night fee added during the booking/checkout process. We tiered the pricing so that fewer guests wouldn't incur the full nightly rate. (we've begged VRBO to update the posted rates to match the number of guests you've entered, but... not yet!) Now onto more pleasant topics. : )

2,500 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms

This home is in the heart of the Hudson Valley and is a 2 hour drive from NYC and 3 hours from Boston. It features an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings, light-filled windows, lots of living space, and outdoor deck. All with a magnificent view of the Catskills. We're also tech and cooking nerds. So the house is nicely (un)wired and geared up. Also, Our water here is purified from a well on site.

See further below for a detailed description of each room.

Booked guests have access to the entire house, garage, deck, and land. A really nice perk: our property is a short path from the Millbrook school which has a playground, 400m track, and basketball courts. All open to the public. There are two outbuildings on our property that are not open for use at present.

P.S. Dogs are welcome (up to two), but no cats I'm afraid.

The home is beautiful with lovely view of the Catskills. I loved that there was not a television in the living room (there is a fantastic rec room in the basement with a television). I stayed with my young adult daughters. The home has many games and puzzles which we played and had great conversations. We ran for exercise from the home into the village which is super cute. We picked up groceries at the local village market and made dinners in the house. Altogether a peaceful relaxing trip. I would highly recommend this home.

From the moment we stepped through the door into the house we felt welcome. Our hosts, Sarah and Jonathan Edwards, left us a “Welcome” basket that was fabulous!! We enjoyed the wine so much that we went to Millbrook Winery for a more extensive tasting!! The property is as advertised- homey, comfy, serene. It’s downright gorgeous. Our hosts were responsive with help and advise. Thank you, Sarah and Jonathan, for a thoroughly enjoyable experience!!
