Beautifully restored character cottage Le Fournil, stunning panoramic mountain views of the Pyrenees, 10x5m pool, self contained high quality Gite for 2 - 4, free WiFi Internet. Tastefully appointed rooms that invite to relax.

Le Fournil is an independent cottage, full of character, its name reflecting its agricultural past, when it was the bakehouse and grain store to the main house Le Couloumé, built around 1850. Le Fournil has been transformed into a spacious self catering holiday cottage and Gite with all Mod Cons, including WiFi internet, whilst retaining most of the original features, with exposed beams in the bedrooms and the old bread oven still in place in the sitting room.
Le Couloumé is a traditional French farmhouse with several outbuildings sitting in over an hectare of land on a south facing slope in a commanding position in Loudet, a pretty village in a range of hills sometimes known as the Little Pyrenees, in the Haute Garonne region, just on the border to the Hautes Pyrenees. Our location is also ideal for relaxing and exploring the area.
Large 10 x 5 metre inground pool with stunning mountain views, paved beach area with sun loungers, a huge parasol and a solar shower - a gorgeous suntrap! Pool is for exclusive use of our gite guests.
The swimming pool is a private pool and its use is strictly reserved for members of the owner's family and people staying in the gîte.
Geographically we are in the Central Pyrenees, almost equidistance between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean coast. Nestling in an ideal position we have access to some of the most beautiful scenery that France has to offer. From lovely rolling hills, through to the World famous Tour de France Pyrenean Cols, like the Col de Tourmalet. We enjoy magical uninterrupted views of the Pyrenees across the valley - in fact we can see the mountains of three different departments, the Ariège in the east, the Haute Garonne in the south and the Hautes Pyrenees to the west, and even Spain!

What a beautiful gite! We particularly enjoyed eating on the terrace with the magnificent view of the Pyrenees in the distance. The place was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Claudia was the perfect host, helping us orient ourselves and settle in. She was flexible when our plans for checkout changed, and her communications were perfect. Highly recommended as a base to explore this beautiful part of France!

What a beautiful Gite in Loudet. Relaxing by the beautiful pool or eating outside watching the wildlife and the colours change over the Pyrenees, this was an amazing place to stay. There are lovely walks around the area and lovely food and hospitality! Would thoroughly recommend and this was by far the best property in terms of location and quality we have ever stayed in : thank you Claudia and Hugues for your warm greetings and your lovely Gite!

We loved the quiet village and the dramatic - ever changing - views of the Pryenees. The nearby towns of Montrejeau and St Gaudens are only 15-20 mins away. A great base to explore the Pyrenees, go to the Marciac Jazz festival or Toulouse.
The property is well thought out, with everything you need and the hosts were approacable, helpful without ever being intrusive. We loved staring at Pyrenees from the gite terrace - even watching distant storms and lightning at night.
Great pool, all in all a superb gite.

The gite more than met our expectations. Very nicely done, clean and well equipped. The modern and efficient kitchen equipment and heating system showed great attention to detail. The log burner was great on the few chilly evening we had. The views from the terrace are AMAZING. We did a few easy cycles on the nearly empty roads nearby, and walked by the little canal at the bottom of the garden. We managed a trip to Spain for lunch. Marianne left us a really well thought out welcome pack, excellent home made jam! As hosts they were a mine of information, we ate in a great restaurant recommended to us. We stayed four weeks while house hunting, as a result we will return, probably for a short stay, definitely for more advice. The pool was definitely a pool with a view. We had a few very warm days but we were out most days so didn't get time to go in....but it's very clean and inviting looking, I would definitely have had a swim .....oh yes and the stars you can see at night!
