What a lovely quirky cottage, we loved it!

Very quirky and very comfortable, surprisingly spacious, great location, effective secondary glazing, books galore, our only problem was finding nearby parking on a busy August weekend!
10.0 / 10.0
We had a wonderful week in this home from home. It is very quirky, but also very charming. As mentioned in other reviews, the kitchen is tiny, but has just about everything that is required. When we arrived, we discovered the knob for the oven was broken, but this was quickly addressed once I had informed Lynne (property manager) There is no freezer. A freezer is not listed on the inventory but I had assumed there might be a small one inside the fridge, but this was not an issue for us.The property is very well equipped and comfortable. There is a small garden, but this was very overgrown so we were not able to use it, which was a shame. The property is in an excellent location and very close to the centre of Ludlow. Due to the windows being in keeping with the age of the property, there is some road noise when sitting in the living rooms and from the bedroom that is on the front as the road can be quite busy.

Comfortable. warm. convenient, spacious. The kitchen is small, but practicable and the re are stairs to navigate, but it's a homely place and we enjoyed our stay.

We booked this house for a friend meet up in Ludlow and it was just a perfect base for our weekend. Close enough to the market square and castle. We would definitely use it again for a trip to this lovely town. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Spacious, comfortable and characterful property in a great location near the centre of Ludlow. Plenty of room for four adults and two children. We enjoyed our stay very much.
10.0 / 10.0
The house is indeed quirky, but we love old and quirky so it was the perfect space to experience medieval Ludlow.
But if you have any mobility issues this is not the property for you. The stairs are very tricky to navigate and the uphill walk to town is strenuous at best.

We recently spent 2 weeks in the "quirky house in Ludlow". We had some concerns at first but there were few choices in Ludlow. Those concerns disappeared when we stepped in the door. It is a beautiful old house with really spacious rooms that feels like someones home. It is old fashioned for sure but really comfortable. A small but well equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare meals for several people and room to all sit down to dinner. It has a small garden up a bath in the back that is a very peaceful spot to sit. Most of all, it is very quiet, even in the day when there is traffic on the road. I urge you to stay here. Also Lynne the caretaker could not have been more helpful and friendly. Thank you Judy.

Quirky cottage
Quirky cottage
The house is quirky with lots of antique/vintage furniture. Comfortable seating and beds. Tiny kitchen but as we only stayed 2 nights it was big enough to make drinks and prep the dog food. The only downside was having to go out the main door, along a passage to reach the garden outside but it was secure so the dogs could explore off the lead. Location in town brilliant and parking for 1 car on main road sorted by the owner. If you like old buildings with a quirky style this is the place to stay.

Historic Ludlow
Historic Ludlow
The property as described by the owner is quirky no doubt and for its age, is in rather good shape.
The kitchen is well equipped but could have been a bit larger.
The rooms are well proportioned with very comfortable beds and sufficient number of cloakrooms and bathrooms for a group of six (plus two kids).
Located within easy reach of the castle, market square and walking trails and we did have a super time.

A really quirky house with lots of rooms to explore. Great hosts who were really welcoming. House is ideally situated for exploring the town. The house and furniture are all very old , and there is a lot of furniture in the house. The kitchen is small but has everything you need - it was fun trying to guess who might have lived there in the past.

Shabby chic
Shabby chic
The house is in a good location, the parking was ok and it's an easy walk into town. There were just two of us, and we managed with the very small kitchen and the single bench in the very small garden. I think we would have struggled if there had been more of us. We felt it was too cluttered for a holiday let and generally a bit disappointing at the price.

Perfect home for family get together
Perfect home for family get together
We had a wonderful weekend at this charming town house in Ludlow. Lynne gave us a wonderful welcome and we knew she would be available should we have had any queries. The house was perfect for us (2 parents, 3 adult sons and their 2 partners).
Plenty of space and although the kitchen was small had everything you could possibly need. Pleased to find a large Le Cruset casserole (not in many holiday lets), perfect when my husband made a venison casserole. Local butchers, fishmongers and market excellent. Great to have 3 loos and 2 showers. Thankyou Judy for letting us use your house. Would thoroughly recommend. The limited parking didn't cause us a problem. We managed to park our car just near the house with a permit and our son's car was only a 5 min walk away in the public carpark. Loads of nice walks from the house, hope to return one day. Many Thanks.

We had a wonderful time here for a long weekend. The house was very centrally located, and very clean. We were a family of two adults, six children and two dogs and the house accommodated us perfectly. The two living areas were great, the upstairs living room lovely and warm and cosy for the family. Thank you so much for having us.

Perfect accommodation for a group short break
Perfect accommodation for a group short break
This was ideal for a group who met up from different areas of the country for a birthday reunion. The house is centrally located within easy walking distance of the station, shops, castle and restaurants. It is very old with interesting features but comfortable and well-equipped. The bedrooms were perfectly adequate for a group of 5, and the lounges were cosy and welcoming. We all agreed we would be very happy to return here for a future occasion.

Very nice place
Very nice place
This house is full of character and big enough for 6 people. We are a family of 5 and on several evenings we had two friends for dinner, no problem. Kitchen is tiny, but very well equipped, better then some much bigger ones we have seen. Dishwasher helped a lot, as well as extra storage where washing machine, extra fridge and freezer are. Dining - sitting area downstairs is nice and big enough. Wood burning stove is very nice (guests need to buy wood). Upstairs sitting room is great. Bedrooms are big enough, beds are comfortable. Central heating works very well. Two bathrooms and extra toilet are great for 3 bedrooms. No need to take books with you - there are interesting books in every room. House was nicely decorated for Christmas.
Top floor bathroom would be even better with a mirror and a shelf above the basin. Tall people need to be careful when going into kitchen - very low doorframe. Twin bedroom doesn't have cupboard or drawers. Most cupboards and drawers in bedrooms are full of extra blankets, bedlinen, fold-up beds, high chairs,... but not enough space for visitors clothes. It's great to have all those extra items, for all possible occasions, but visitors should have enough free space. All this is very easy to fix.
Position of the house is on the main road and looking into another very busy small road, but it doesn't matter at all - double glazing downstairs blocks all that noise and we didn't have any problems during the nights. That position means that town centre is 5 minutes walk. Restaurants, shops, castle, cathedral, everything is there, so car is needed only for going out of the town. And there are very nice places to go to.
Definitely recommending this cottage for holiday.

lovely spacious period house
lovely spacious period house
This old house is full of lovely, quirky features but the rooms are a good size and the new heating system keeps it warm. There are plenty of reception rooms and bathrooms.
It is ideally placed to explore Ludlow and its shops (close enough to return to drop off those purchases and start again). Should the weather be bad there are plenty of books and games to keep you entertained.
It is on a main thoroughfare through the town but we did not find noise a problem (we stayed over a festival weekend and also experienced the weekend rush hour). The kitchen is a little snug but is well equiped and more than adequate for making breakfast and snacks.
