About this house rental
The Golden Vaults of Praiano is a very old typical coastal home with original domed ceiling, completely restored and finished in fall 2015; the rooms are distributed on two disconnected floors and each floor consists of two bedrooms, two bathrooms, one living room and kitchenette. The top floor has a terrace where you can all stay together and dine out; the lower floor has only a balcony in front of the two bedrooms.
Our Rental is one of the very few properties of the Amalfi area with a very limited number of stairs! In fact you need to climb only 10 steps to reach the first floor and 20 for the second floor, staring from a communal road where cars can temporarily stop just in front of it !
Our home is provided of:
-a well equipped kitchen, available one on each floor;
-unlimited and free Wi-Fi Internet connection;
-a TV-SAT-SMART with some English channels and connections to the Internet that will allow you to video stream your preferred home TV , one in each floor. One TV-SAT with most SKY-TV streaming English Movies and in most common foreign languages, a lot of Kids programs are also available, like Disney Channels (this service is available only on the Second Floor);
-Air conditioning unit in each room and living room;
-Vanity set
Should you request a parking, it is located at 200 meters from our front door, in the town lots (the cost is Euro 12/day using the town parking meters). During most of the year, you can find free parking nearby (yet, it is peak of the season). If you ride scooters, you can easily park them opposite to the house, on the street, free of charge; this would be an easy way to reach nearby destinations and to ride around the coast.
Main transportation hub location is at 1.2 km (about 15 min walk)
Praiano bus that loops the village local stop n. 21 is at your door, seconds away.
Local bus stop n. 15 to get on the bus to Positano is at 400 meters, about 5 min. walk.
Closest restaurants of Via Umberto I are 5 to 10 min. walk.
The nearest grocery is located by bus stop 15, between 5 to 10 min\' walk
Marina di Praia beach is at 1.5 km, circa 15 min walk down
Closest main harbours to board ferries to our nearby main towns are or the Islands are Positano or Amalfi, both situated at circa 30 minutes drive.
Please note that by town regulation, you will be charged a visitors\' tax equal to Euro 1.5 per person and per night. No tax after 7 nights. Children under the age of 10 are not paying the tax. You are kindly requested to pay the tax in cash at the arrival.

Both apartments were well equipped with everything we needed and then some. They were very clean and everything was in working order. This location is right by a bus stop where a local shuttle can be taken to various locations around Praiano. The view from the patio area is absolutely beautiful. This neighborhood was quiet and very peaceful. The host whose name is Domenico was very responsive whenever I had any questions. He provides excellent information including tips and links to the surrounding area and its offerings. We highly recommend the Golden Vaults!

My friends and I initially booked this place because of the view of the Almalfi Coast, number of rooms and bathrooms. We saw all the photos and they were exactly how it is seen. Domenico the host is very helpful answering all questions and gives us information about the place , recommendations and arranged transportation. You can also communicate with him very quickly. We had a total of 9 people which fit perfectly with 2 flats. It was spacious and love that we had separate kitchens , washers and 4 bathrooms. Only issue was walking up and down the stairs in the town. Most places are walkable. I do recommend this for families and groups.

Spent 6 days at this property from August 13 - 19 and used both apartments. We were 2 families travelling together and the space was perfect for us. Another great feature of the property is the host Domenico who was wonderful and very responsive. The house itself is wonderful. Very modern, well furnished, great amenities. We found all the kitchen tools we needed and were able to prepare meals with ease. We loved eating on the terrace and the extendable canopy was great to keep shade. The a/c was wonderful and the wifi was not super strong but totally sufficient. The showers were amazing with wonderful water pressure.
The bottom apartment had a lot of ants but bug spray was provided so after we sprayed they stayed away. We kept all the food in the top apartments and did all the meal preparation there and we did not see any ants, only on the lower level. There is no parking on the property so we got lucky and found free street parking but we did not move the car our entire stay because we were afraid we wouldn't find another spot. If you plan to drive, you may want to find a house with onsite parking.
Location of the property is not great, especially with children or people with mobility issues. It was not very clear how far up it is on the listing but it is directly beside the entrance to the path of the Gods! It's HIGH and not very convenient to go shopping or go into town. Taxi's are unreliable and very expensive. We relied heavily on the bus but it was not ideal. It was extremely difficult to walk down and up the stairs everyday to get groceries. The restaurants are also very far away. Taxis were always busy and they were very expensive for even the shortest rides so we did not eat out often. Thank goodness for the restaurant Che Bonta with their food delivery! Despite the location we made the most of our time there and enjoyed our stay in Amalfi.

What an amazing property! Domenico was a perfect owner/manager. I had numerous questions for him before I arrived and he was always friendly, helpful and made great arrangements (driver, boats, restaurant reservations). After arriving we continued to have questions and Domenico was always available with friendly solutions.
The apartment/house is much nicer than imagined before arriving. Everything is new and done with great taste and quality. The floors, cabinetry and furniture is all perfectly clean and beautiful. The veranda blew us away with a lovely ceramic table overlooking the incredible Amalfi Coast.
Everything works perfectly (because everything is new and up to date) from the kitchen appliances to the wifi to the TV entertainment systems. One night we locked ourselves out of the apartment and Domenico told us how to get a new key from the lockbox.
The house sits high on the hill so the views are spectacular. Also, it’s very quiet here so we slept wonderfully. Everything on the Amalfi Coast is up and down so you have to be fit to walk up and down but Domenico uses a great driver named Michele who is available for excursions. Come here knowing that you’ll have great support from Domenico and knowing that the house is beautiful, freshly renovated and in a beautiful location. Many thanks to Domenico for this great stay and for taking great care of us.
