About this house rental
Situated by a secluded beach near Ballycotton County Cork this peaceful and relaxing home enjoys beautiful sea views. The famous Ballycotton cliff walk can be found a few steps from the door. The house was built in 2003 to take advantage of the views and to make the most of the light and space. The home is designed to feel warm and welcoming with an atmosphere that is comfortable and relaxing. The living areas are open plan with vaulted ceilings. There are three comfortable double bedrooms with King Size beds and en-suite bathrooms. Two are on the upper floor and one on the ground floor. There is an additional twin bedded room on the ground floor. We provide 400TC linens, quality duvets, pillows and cozy throws for the beds. Bathrooms are provided with towels and hand soap. The Kitchen is well equipped with a hob, double oven, microwave, American style fridge with ice and water dispenser. There is a toaster , kettle and Nespresso coffee maker. The utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer. The dining area has a vaulted ceiling with spectacular views across the bay to the headland. The living area has a wood burning stove for those colder nights and there is also full central heating. For your entertainment there is a television with satellite connection, a DVD player, a radio/CD player with Bluetooth connection and unlimited wifi. There is a table and chairs for al fresco dining on the patio. Additional seating is provided on the deck area. The garage provides a safe place to store bicycles, kayaks or surfboards. There is ample parking. We will endeavour to meet you on arrival, work permitting but full access instructions will be provided.

We spent a week at this home during our recent trip to Ireland and to say it was magical would be an understatement. This location is perfect. The views were great and your proximity to town (about 5 miles) is not far, but makes you feel very remote. If you’re looking for a true getaway, this is the right place to find it. The beach being within a stones throw was special and made for some memorable moments. Being at the start of the Cliff Walk was also very convenient. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss it the minute we left for Kilkenny, because I did. The house itself was larger than we needed but contained everything a couple, or family, might need. We only had a few small issues, but they were minor in the grand scheme of things…There was an ant problem in the kitchen and some overly dusty and cobwebbed window panes and there was water damage in spots. We had no air conditioning during a slight heat wave, but fans were available and appreciated. We couldn’t use the fire stove because it was broken (which was fine with the heat) but the windows couldn’t be opened due to needing to be serviced, which made for a pretty stuffy house during the day. The back door to the patio was hard to open and close, which further compounded the air flow/cooling issues. With a little additional care, like making windows and doors work properly, this home would be even better than perfect. All in all, we’d do this again. Being home is great, but that view will always be remembered.

We feel so fortunate to have found this incredible property. The access to restaurants in Bally Cotton was perfect. Hiking on the cliff walk right out the door not to mention swimming on the beech steps away. We took day trips to Cork, Cobh, and Waterford. Our host was incredibly available to answer questions about the area. Thank you.

The cottage exceeded our expectations in all respects and we would love to visit again. The location is perfect and there's lots to see and do in the area. We were all very sorry to leave.
