About this house rental

at 1600 t of altitude an ancient building from the 1700s was recovered which once served as a lookout tower. The renovation project had as objective: to safeguard the originality of the old structure: a dream house has been reborn in a quiet area located in a romantic grove. On the ground floor there is a living room kitchen connected to the upper floor with an iron staircase covered in larch, a bedroom with an exposed roof made entirely of wood with a double bed and a bunk bed in the Valle d'Aosta style. The services are located in the lower floor. The house is surrounded by about 600 meters of land arranged in a single plot, with parking area, dining area, barbecue area. The panoramic view is spectacular, ideal for those who love silence and the characteristic bread festival on Sunday 16 October

A cozy tiny house, on a sunny mountainside with great views. In a calm, authentic little town. A great surprise for us was the path, just at the end of the garden, who takes you on a beautiful trip around the mountain. There is other great trails further up the mountain (starts 10 min. away in car), with spectacular views. We used it for skiing, and tried Cervina, Valtournence, Thorgnon and Chamois. We had our best day at Chamois, even that's the smalles and cheapest ski resort I have ever tried:-)

We woke every morning to the sound of cuckoos, breakfast on the terrace with the most amazing views, hiking through wild flower meadows with butterflies and bees, morning coffee or an afternoon beer at the local bar with Fabio the engaging bar man. We enjoyed one week in July in this genuine and very unique old and lovely renovated house on the quiet Aostan hills. Patio that you can see on the pictures was perfect for having meals outside, reading or just enjoying the views of rolling hills. One very positive aspect of the patio and the lovely barbecue area just below it is that for the most part nobody can see you from the neighborhood or from the trail close to the house. Description of the house and the surroundings is absolutely accurate, we (two adults and a ten year old boy) had everything we needed for a relaxing stay (there is a washing machine too). Lucia was very helpful and available, although we did not need or miss anything during our stay. In terms of square meters the house is small, but the guests will most likely want to stay outside and enjoy the open space with magnificent views. Note that there is no Wi-Fi provided but we hardly noticed that since everyone had his or her own SIM card ;) The mobile connection outside of the house is excellent, due to the very thick walls inside the house it is slightly weaker. With a larger car you would need to park in a public parking space 3-4 minutes walk away from the property. With a smaller car you can park on the property, but even then you will need to carry the luggage through the grass for a few meters. But while doing this you will be rewarded with a marvelous view. In La Magdaleine there is a nice grocery store 7-8 minutes walk away, which had everything we needed. The village is authentic and charming, you are much more likely to meet a local than a tourist there. We warmly recommend this place.

The best place to stay!

We spent a week in this old renovated fort in La Magdalene in July 2020, and we absolutely loved everything and every moment of our holidays! The house looks tiny from the outside, but is surprisingly spacious and perfectly appointed. It is nested among the trees on the lower edge of the village, and the view over the valley and mountains is breathtaking! Lucia was very welcoming and helpful, and she showed us around the property and gave us some useful information and tips about the village and region. She was very responsive and accommodating during the reservation process and the week. The house has everything you need, and is divided on three levels: the basement with a generous bathroom with separate toilet, the ground floor with the kitchen and diving area, and the upper floor under the roof with the bedroom with a comfortable (hard mattress which I like) double bed and a bunk bed, and plenty of storage space. The garden is just the best! Although you are in the village of La Magdalene, you feel isolated… the valley and the forrest in front, the mountains and the village above the property. The garden has wonderful space to relax, to admire the stunning view, to barbecue, to relax, to read, to enjoy a meal or drink, etc… with different spots, either on the lower terrace or under the gazebo. My only regret is that we could not stay longer than a week! This was one of the most relaxing holidays we had, and we discovered a fantastic region. The are numerous walks in the region (Col Pilaz, Lago di Champlong, Chamois, etc), great little mountain lakes, the wild flowers were unique and beautiful, and great places to picnic in nature. Aosta is only 45 minutes drive from the house, the village of La Magdalene has a small supermarket, and there are other supermarkets, shops and a market in the neighbouring village of Antey-Saint-Andrè (15’ drive) and Châtillon (30’ drive). We loved our stay in Lucia’s house, and will, without a doubt, be back soon! Thank you Lucia for everything, and for renting out your special little paradise to us!

The house is in a good location in its own "garden" a quaint and interesting property, it is quite basic as regards equipment but is very clean and supplied with good quality bedlinen and towels. On three levels with kitchen and sitting area, then downstairs to the bathroom remembering to duck if you are tall, where there is a good size shower cubicle, wash basin and sliding door to the toilet and bidet. Upstairs the bedroom is surprisingly spacious with a double bed, 2 bunk beds, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. The owner Lucia is friendly and welcoming but never intrusive. There is a large gazebo in the garden where we sat after our walks with a welcome cup of tea, remember to bring your travel kettle.

Am Ende nochmals herzlichen Dank an die Vermieterin Lucia für ihre Hilfe und Unterstützung bei der Suche und Finden eines Tierärzten als unser Hund (Neufundländer) eines Hitzschlag erlitten hat. Posto bellissimo, tranquillo e con vista meravigliosa! Il prato e il patio permettono di godersi in tutto relax la vacanza. La casa è stata ristrutturata ed è attrezzata di tutto il necessario. Bellissima la finestra dietro il letto e il lucernaio sopra, che rendono l'atmosfera romantica. Sempre disponibile e molto gentile la signora Lucia. Lo consiglio caldamente e ci tornerei volentieri.

Io e mia moglie abbiamo soggiornato per 1 settimana in questo piccolo gioiello immerso nella natura. Posta in una posizione strategica per visitare la Valtournanche(dal paese partono numerosi sentieri) e vicina alle terme di S.Vincent, è molto graziosa sia all'interno, in puro stile valdostano, che all'esterno dove un bel gazebo con tavolo e sedie a sdraio è l'ideale per pranzare davanti ad un panorama magnifico. L'accesso alla casa (dotata di parcheggio privato) è un po' stretto ma con un pochino di attenzione non si hanno problemi. Utile la stufa a pellet quando si fa la doccia perché nella zona bagno c'è un pochino di umidità. Per chi ama la natura incontaminata e il verde e la quiete della Valle d'Aosta questo è davvero il posto ideale!! La gentilezza della sig.ra Lucia e l'accoglienza dei Valdostani ci hanno davvero reso ancora più bello il soggiorno!

Abbiamo soggiornato con il cane, ampio spazio verde esterno e tanto relax. La signora Lucia è stata molto disponibile e gentile, spero la prossima volta ci sia occasione di conoscersi. La casa è semplicemente un incanto. In un angolino riparato del paese, con una vista magnifica sulla valle, la casa ha molto spazio intorno senza essere completamente isolata. È la meta ideale per chi ha un cane poiché il giardino antistante è molto ampio, su due livelli, e abbastanza riparato dal resto dell'abitato. Siamo stati in inverno, ha nevicato ma è stato davvero facile spostarsi perchè il comune ha spazzato via la neve dalle strade. Dentro la casa è su 3 livelli, cucina dotata di ogni comfort, calda grazie a stufa a pellet, arredamento montanaro in legno con un sacco di dettagli carini. La signora Lucia è gentilissima e accogliente. Ideale per chi cerca relax, assolutamente consigliata!

We were four adults and two pets and fitted very comfortably and cosily in Lucia's Cottage. Lucia and her husband welcomed us and gave us very good and accurate advice on the surrounding areas. The cottage is immersed in nature and is surrounded with exceptionally breathtaking views. Lucia and her husband were always available and really take care of their clients. We fully recommend Lucia's cottage as the best possible way to savour all the beauty of La Magdeleine.

In generale il posto è carino. La casa è molto piccola e stretta quindi chi è alto anche solo 1m70 rischia di inzuccarsi lungo la scala a chiocciola sui tre piani. La casa aveva alcune cose rotte (la finestra del bagno, un ripiano in legna della scala, il manico dello sportello del ghiaccio) . Secondo me si dovrebbe verificare meglio lo stato prima di darlo ai successivi clienti. La dotazione della cucina è scarsissima, dotata di attrezzatura di bassa qualità con padelle con il rivestimento in teflon tutto staccato. Mancano molte cose quindi consiglio di portarsi su un pò di attrezzatura. Il giardino della casa confina con altre villette, non è così isolata come forse può sembrare dalle foto.

Casa bellissima, ristrutturata con cura, amore e senso pratico. Molto pulita, confortevole e fornita di tutto il necessario per cucinare e pulire. Lucia e suo figlio sono stati molto gentili e disponibili, l'abbiamo molto apprezzato. La nostra esperienza è stata meravigliosa, il tempo è stato dalla nostra parte e ci ha permesso di fare delle passeggiate nei dintorni e di godere dello spazio all'aperto che la casa di Lucia offre. Colazioni, pranzi e letture sotto il déhors e sul prato, con vista sulle montagne hanno deliziato le nostre giornate.

Wir hatten einen wunderbar erholsamen Urlaub in Lucias Ferienhäuschen. Sie war bei Fragen jederzeit erreichbar und überhaupt eine aufmerksame Gastgeberin. Das Häuschen war trotz der niedrigen Außentemperaturen immer kuschelig warm. Zudem war es absolut sauber. Handtücher und Bettwäsche waren vorhanden. Die sehr schmale Auffahrt Richtung Haus und privatem Parkplatz war zwar abenteuerlich, aber zu bewältigen. Für größere Fahrzeuge steht unweit des Hauses ein öffentlicher Parkplatz zur Verfügung. In dem kleinen Dorf gibt es einen kleinen aber ausgesprochen gut sortierten Supermarkt, sodass es einem an nichts mangelt. Der Wanderweg welcher hinter dem Haus beginnt ist nur zu empfehlen. Lucias Ferienhäuschen ist genau das richtige für alle die Ruhe und Erholung in der Natur finden möchten. Herzlichen Dank, Lucia! Viele Grüße Jasmin und Tobias
