Aruvälja summerhouse

We had a lovely stay at Aruvälja Summerhouse. The place is peaceful, clean, and well-equipped – perfect for a relaxing getaway in nature. The surroundings are beautiful, and everything was just as described. The only small downside was that we were not informed in advance that the tap water is not drinkable and that we would need to buy drinking water from the store. It would have been helpful to know this beforehand. Other than that, everything was great, and we would happily return!

Honestly, I liked everything about this place. It's relatively isolated and has ample space. A big garden, absolutely ideal for our three children to run around in. There is a sauna, an open fire in a "Kaminofen", well equipped kitchen, boardgames (chess, backgammon, dominos). Most importantly, there's a separate bedroom for the kids and another for the parents. Two BBQs were in the garden. We would definitely go back. Again, it's absolutely ideal for families.

Here are a few points which might bother other guests but certainly did not bother us: There's no TV (Hooray! Who needs the "idiot box" anyway?) Water on Hiiumaa is very iron-rich, is safe to drink but tastes abonimable, so bring your own drinking water The accommodation is located in the southwestern corner of Hiiumaa, just north of Emmaste. If you want to go anywhere it's going to be a drive. The village Coop is not far, can be driven or biked, but you'll need a car if you're staying here. Not a problem, Hiiumaa's roads are fairly empty (we didn't see a single traffic light on the island other than at the Heltermaa ferry port)

Big and fenced yard, good terrace areas. Grass was mowed.

House smelled really bad and water was terrible (filters were black). Water smelled awfully and should be used only for toilet. We didn’t drink water and were afraid to even wash ourselves with it. No running water for us, so it was more like camping. Pillows were too flat.
