Nice little village close to Dover, because we didn't want to stay in Dover. It was close to my son's boarding school, next to a pub and opposite the village shop, so very convenient.

Parking - it's such a small village, it's difficult to find parking. You cannot park next to the property because it's just off a busy road.

We've been staying here for the fourth or fifth time in the past years as we instantly fell in love with the typical British "quirkiness" of the apartment when we first booked it back then. And we've already booked another stay this summer. Being anglophile, to us it's just the most perfect flat to enjoy a proper UK holiday in one of the most beautiful and tranquil villages we know in the Britain. And yes, there may be some things that other people will not like (as I will mention below later). What's perfect: There's a pub with excellent food and a beautiful garden literally right next door (15 meters from door to door). There's a little "village shop" (aka supermarket) right across the street that has everything one might need. There's free parking a 2min walk away behind the church. It's hard to explain but this apartment became a "home from home" to us – including the typical mouldy smell of an old building, the little issues, just everything.

Not one single door in the apartment shuts properly (incl. the one in the bathroom). People looking for privacy in their rooms should probably stay away (remember, these are old wooden doors). The light above the electric stove is broken as is the rip on the leather of the couch in the living room since we first stayed here in 2023 (to us, this just adds to the charm but someone else might think differently). The slightly chaotic kitchen feels extremely cosy to us - but again, someone might not like that. You get the idea.
