The staff there are amazing! Such kind people who go out of there way for you! A hidden gem for sure and make sure you stay enough days to learn about the eco village and do some of the cultural tours or spend time with the children

Definitely not a glamorous hotel but the experience of staying in traditional chalets makes up for it!

It is not a busy hostel. As a solo traveller expecting to meet people, I was the only guest for 5 nights. Also without my own car transfers were expensive and a miscommunication about my transfer to and fro the airport meant I had to pay double what I’d been told.

Food was good, people were wonderfully welcoming, the organised tour was fascinating, and the community work taking place is valuable. A heart warming experience.

The resort is beautifully designed using rubbish and sustainable materials. The stay there is okay for tour groups who only want to spend 1 to 2 nights there. There is a common area and a bar where you can have a drink. The showers and toilets are clean and the staff are nice.

The food is very bad and far too expensive. For breakfast there was only tea, coffee and muesli that you could take but no milk or yoghurt or anything else. We bought our own things. There were price lists for food and transport in the hut. However, we were charged 4 times the price. For a traditional meal of pap and sausage we had to pay 200R. In Kruger Park it costs 60R. When we asked about the change in prices, we were told that this was the decision of the manager. The pool contained hardly any water and was not usable. As soon as a group of people sat at the bar in the evening, it was noisy and difficult to fall asleep. There were power cuts every day and no substitutes like candles or solar lamps to replace them. You couldn't take a shower during that time either. Very unfortunate. A good idea to support local people but not well organised.
