About this house rental

The house is 50 meters from the entrance to the village. The view from the house is unique, as from the balconies one can see the ruins of the ancient village of Ioulis as well as the present day picturesque village.

The house was built in 2004, on the same foundations as the original house and with the same architectural design and stones. All the material to build the house where transferred by donkey as no cars are allowed in the village.

The house is on two levels, the first level has a living room with a stone fireplace, a small dining area and an open-plan kitchen. Leading off the living room is a large balcony with a BBQ and a view of the picturesque village of Ioulis. The second level has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Both bedrooms lead onto a large balcony with a view of the hills and the village of Ioulis.

The house will be de-sanitized before guests arrive and after their departure.

Amenities: BBQ, hobs, fridge, heating, mosquito blinds, floor fans (a/c is not necessary as the house is built of solid stone), flat screen TV, DVD player, stereo, music library, microwave, kettle, filter coffee machine, toaster, juice extractor, multi-blender, iron and board, linen and towels.

Facilities: one bedroom with a double bed, one bedroom with 2 single beds, one bathroom with a shower, one bathroom with a bath, 2 children can also sleep on the sofas in the living room, indoor dining for 6 people, outdoor dining for 6 people, BBQ.

Ioulida is one of the 4 ancient municipalities of the island, Ioulis, Korissia, Pisses and Karthea. At the tourist offices, you can find information about Ioulis and the rest of the island. At the small archeological museum of Ioulis you can find rare classical artifacts. One of the well known monuments of ancient Greece on the island is the famous “Lion”, a huge lion carved in rock (7th century B.C.), ten minutes walk from the village.

If you are interested in hiking, Kea has 12 well known hiking trails, that pass by the village of Ioulis. The trails vary in length and difficulty from beginners to experiences hikers.

In the village of Ioulis, you can find several small tavernas with local delicacies. Kea has its own local products, from beef and lamb, to honey, olive oil, capers, wine, tomatoes and much more.
