Villa Giglio Marino

Proprietaria che non risponde alle telefonate a causa della mancanza di segnale in casa e indirizzo inesistente; dopo aver chiesto a chiunque nei paraggi con zero risultati, il caseificio ci ha indicato la posizione giusta: l'alloggio lo trovate su Maps come “B&B Villa Giglio” lungo la strada provinciale 278. Una volta arrivati è stato però un piacere: la proprietaria, gentile e solare, ci ha fatto trovare una casa pulitissima, in ordine, arredata con gusto e cura e con tutti i comfort (aggiungerei soltanto alimenti base come sale e caffè e magari una padellina). Apprezzatissime le due sdraio e ombrellone inclusi nel prezzo! La posizione è strategica: da una stradina erbosa-sabbiosa privata, in meno di un minuto si arriva ad una spiaggia libera poco affollata.

Assenza di segnale e WiFi altalenante da 20Mbs.

We were wanting a few days of sun and relaxation and it was great for this. It's right on the private beach which was pretty much empty while we were there. The property has everything that you need for a chill out holiday. The woman who met us was wonderful, very kind and went out of her way to help us.

We didn't have a car and that was probably a mistake as it's quite a distance to shops. We like walking so we managed ok but I think many people wouldn't want to do those distances by foot. There is a cheese shop and pizzeria across the road. Our other disappointment was that from the photos it looked like we had a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea, although that terrace was there it was for a different apartment and we had an outside eating area with no view or sun beds.

Location was close to the Paestum archaeological site and to Agropoli (if you have a car!). The quiet, public beach started practically behind the back yard. The beach itself is ideal for children, because it takes 200m to get deep. The house was very clean and very well stocked. It had all the stuff we desired, including beach beds and an outside shower. If you want a little bit more beach action, it is a five minute walk south along the beach to a beach place called Lido di Franca with a little bar on the beach. Otherwise a drive to Agropoli is easy where you will find a lot more action.

The house is rather difficult to find. It is not marked anywhere and the numbering is not easy. It took us a while to find.

Great location on the beach in Paestum. After spending 5 days in Rome, it was a great place to relax and recharge. Plus it is convenient to the Greek temples in Paestum and a reasonable drive from Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. Visiting in the off season, we had the beach to ourselves. The apartment itself exceeded expectations.
