Algarve Race Resort - Apartments

We rented an apartment in the hotel. It was spacious with a very nice terras and view. In the hotel itself we had a light meal and a breakfast every morning. Especially the breakfast were top, with a wide range of choices. There's ample parking nearby the hotel and the apartments.

Large apartments. Bright, spacious and air conditioning in the bedrooms. Pool water quality is excellent

The grounds around the pool have fallen into disrepair. Few loungers and most of them were broken.

Very good quality, close to the track, nice pools, spa and gym.

Well, if you like to stay at a place among greenery and mountains without any noise then its good.

My experience at this resort was disappointing and fell well short of what I would expect from a property marketed as a 5-star resort. The first issue was the check-in experience. The resort consists of both hotel rooms and apartment units. Unfortunately, I mistakenly booked an apartment, which was located some distance away from the main hotel complex. I arrived late, around 9:30 PM, and requested assistance in locating the apartment. However, I was informed that no staff member was available to guide me, and I had to find the apartment on my own while carrying all of my luggage. Upon arrival, I discovered that I was the only guest on the entire floor of the apartment building, which felt isolated and somewhat unsafe. I requested to be moved to a closer apartment, but was told that no units were available. I then asked whether I could be moved to a hotel room instead. The staff agreed, but only at an additional cost. Afterward, I had to walk back to the apartment alone, collect all of my belongings, and move them to the hotel room myself. Although I arrived at the resort around 9:00 PM, I was not fully settled into my room until approximately 11:30 PM. The second major drawback is the location. The resort is very isolated, with virtually no restaurants, shops, or attractions within walking distance. The nearest cities are Portimão and Lagos, and anyone looking to experience local food, culture, beaches, or nightlife will need to travel to one of these locations. Overall, I found the experience underwhelming for a resort that positions itself as a 5-star property. Personally, I would rate it no higher than 3 stars. I have stayed at several 3-star hotels that offered a significantly better guest experience and level of service. The only reason I would recommend this resort is if you are attending an event at the nearby race circuit, as its proximity to the track is undoubtedly convenient. Otherwise, I would suggest considering alternative accommodation options
