Vila Onix

Peisajul este superb, am servit cu cea mai mare plăcere cafeaua pe balcon, care deși e mic,cu o măsuță cu 2 scaune, este o facilitate... uriașă, baie măricică, fără AC la et 2 dar a fost ok deoarece am avut și un ventilator din partea casei iar noaptea nu a fost nevoie de el, curat, plasa de țânțari, liniște ,multă liniște, leagăn, foișor în curte, locuri de parcare destule, minifrigider in cameră. Și nu în ultimul rând amabilitatea doamnei de la recepție, care este de nota zece plus.🙏🌹

Deși sunt doar 300 m până la lacul Ursu, până la Vila Onix se tot urcă, cei 300 m sunt in pantă, nu orizontal, astfel că, am făcut ceva febră!!😀😀

There is not much to complain about. Probably the fact that it is a bit far from the lake but not too far.

Cheap, clean, convenient and comfy, with a hard-working solo staff guy. Good for budget travelers willing to rough it . a little. What really made the difference for me was the onsite staff person. He works very hard to ensure that guests have a pleasant stay, and he took a great deal of care to communicate clearly and to meet his responsibiliites. This was a great choice for the price and for the last-minute booking, when most of Sovata was sold out. The room and the bed were clean and comfortable, and the balcony very pleasant. My room had new exterior windows and balcony door, and good screening, so that I had a variety of options for night ventilation. The view of the pensiune next door was pleasant, and you could see a bit of mountainside. The TV is small but new and works fine, and you have a choice of movie channels. Mostly, though, I relaxed with a book and a glass of wine after days in the forest and lakes. I could hear the family next door slightly, but not very much. The in-room refrigerator was spotless and kept my snacks and beverages very cold. The bathroom was clean, and the sheets and towels were also very clean. The location is very convenient for walking into the village to visit Ursu Lake and its surrounding nature paths, as well as walking to Lacul Negru. You are also just a 10-minute walk from the village's restaurants, tourist office and food market. City Taxi comes in a flash to take you out to the meeting point for the maxi-taxi to major cities, and hard-working Employee Number One will call them for you. You can also get pizza delivered for free - see the sign in the lobby. There is a small, clean kitchen which you can use to heat water for coffee or prepare a simple breakfast from your own supplies. I slept very well here, especially after a hearty walk in the forest and all-day float at the beautiful, natural, uncrowded and undeveloped salt lake Lacul Mierlei just a 30-minute hike into the forest.

This is not the place for the picky or fastidious, but it does not have bugs and sheets, towels, glasses and night stands are clean. The hotel seems to suffer from a lack of investment by the owners, though perhaps they, too are doing their best. Some of the celiing light bulbs were burnt out, and the sofa in the annex of my room had seen better days. The carpeting is very old, though it is clean. There is a lot of deferred maintenance and a general lack of decor and flowers, which is unusual in flower-covered, friendly, freshly painted Romania travel towns. The reception office looks like a bomb went off in it. There are dead refrigerators and clutter in the downstairs hallway, and an upstairs alcove is roughly partitioned off and seems to lead to a derelict section. Having said all that, my room was clean and pleasant, and had no bugs nor any evidence of same! The mattress was clean and new. I didn't like seeing that one very overworked, though cheerful, person seemed to be doing absolutely everything. Reception, housekeeping, you name it. The apparent owners came in at one point to process the credit card payment, and they seemed unconcerned with helping him. I also felt that some areas, like the clutter problem in the office, were alarming, as was the lack of pleasant touches like flower pots or some nice garden furniture.
