Wonderful and picturesque stay

This may have very well been one of the nicest looking hotels I have ever visited. It was an extremely charming, picturesque boutique hotel with welcoming staff and a very kind and conversational owner, who is also the artist of most of the artworks scattered around the lobby and rooms. The interior of the place is very meticulously designed, renovated and a lot of love and attention to detail was clearly invested into it. My room felt as if I stepped into a a fairy-tale, with a great view of the bay over the rooftops and rustique woodwork everywhere. The location is great too. The breakfast was good and very complete in terms of choice. I loved my short stay here and would definitely go back again.

If I had to be nitpicky: since this building is several centuries old, the soundproofing between rooms obviously leaves something to be desired. I am a very light sleeper (so I worried a little when I arrived and heard the neighbours talk through the wall) but regardless, I slept like a baby here. The comfortable bed, properly darkening window shutters and overall warm ambience of the room made sure of that.

Wonderful boutique hotel with top service

We fell in love with the Pousada, everything was perfect. The property is a gem, there is great attention to detail and every corner is decorated with art, love and good taste. Delicious breakfast and excellent service. A big thank you to Maria, Marineth, Kecinha, Angelica and Angela for taking such good care of us. Marineth's caipirinha is the best we had in Brazil!

Great place at the heart of Paraty

Place is stunning, full of art, and the staff is very friendly. Right in the historical center of Paraty, which is great to walk around and explore and/or shop. While one of the rooms was a bit small, but had a huge long sized bed, the other had a regular couple's bed and was very large. Breakfast was very good, with what was probably the best apple crepe I've ever had.

There was a small issue with ants in one of the rooms, but was quickly resolved upon our arrival.

Authentic Pousada. Lots of character, pleasant staff and great location in Parity. Close to Harbour.

Very authentic dating back to 1780. We had the upstairs room-Juliana- which had nice views. Staff were always nice and we were assisted by our translator app, since only the owner-Maria speaks some English. But we got by. Breakfast was great. Nice outlook over small courtyard pool

Had a small hiccup with loss of electricity one morning but they moved us to another room in mid afternoon when the issue couldn’t be resolved that day.

Beautiful property, fantastic staff, amazing location. Perfect stay.

This pousada was absolutely wonderful and exceeded all expectations. The property itself was beautiful. The owner is an artist, which shows in the incredible décor. We chose an upgraded room on the first floor which had an amazing balcony, comfortable bed, and powerful shower and air conditioning. (We had been advised that the rooms on the top floor are not ideal for tall people because of the low ceiling). The staff were all VERY friendly and welcoming and provided an exceptional service. They remembered where we liked to sit for breakfast, went out of their way to accommodate our needs, and were on hand to help 24/7. The owner speaks English, and the staff speak Portuguese. The whole team do their best to overcome any language barriers. The breakfast was delicious, all freshly cooked, with such care and attention. The location was also perfect. 5 minute walk to the main square, and on the side of the bus station. I wish we could have stayed here longer.

A beautiful place to stay and visit Paraty, in the Old Town

Amazing Pousada, Hotel and place ! We loved everything there ! The staff was amazing, the Owners and Maria Cruz were amazingly nice. The place is beautiful and well decorated, in the center of the Old Town of Paraty. Marinette did the best caipirinhas of Paraty ! :) The rooms were nice, and the little pool was so chill. The breakfasts were amazing. Perfect place to rest and enjoy Paraty !

Perfect location but a bit on the cozy side.

I enjoyed the reception and the hosts and staff were very friendly. The room was charming too and the location was fabulous!

I thought the overall space was smaller than what I expected. Personally, I think it was too expensive for the property. Also, the weather didn't really help but this is no one's fault...

We enjoyed our stay at Pousada Arte Urquijo thoroughly. Very comfortable bed, cozy rooftop room with view, friendly staff and great breakfast. We enjoyed talking with the owner Maria Cruz very much and hope to return again one day. A perfect spot to stay for anyone enjoying art and a little getaway in Paraty.

Service perfect, location perfect, facilities perfect. For a great weekend at Paraty in the heart of the CENTER, around the corner of the sea, absolutely top.

The shower might have been a little tricky but this is only because you ask, if not I wouldn’t have mentioned it because I believe it comes with the charm and authenticity of genuine old buildings.

One of the best in Paraty

Location was perfect. Close to the pier, directly inside to the old town with all nice restaurants and shoppings around. It is located in a very quiet street away from the busy Rua do comércio where people can be a bit loud throughout the night. Mrs. Maria was very nice and friendly and accepted our little girl who is 9 years old once I did not pay attention and have not seen that kids under certain age are not allowed. Room are well maintained, with comfy and spacious bad. My luxury suite hat a small varanda with a nice hammock to hang up. Cleaning is impeccable and toilet products from Loccitane (High quality). Personal was more than friendly and many thanks to the lady who used to be in the afternoon and always prepared a coffee and tea together with delicious cake or biscuits. Breakfast was simply wonderful with fresh juice, Tapiocas and egg dishes prepared on request. Pool area was small but very nice. Towels were also provided when going to the pool or out on a boat trip or just to one of the beaches in the surrounding areas. The night receptionist was also attentive, friendly and communicative, after our lady had left home he could also prepare some snacks to us. If you need to know anything about Paraty or just have a very nice conversation Mrs. Maria is always attentive and very knowledgeable, she is like an encyclopedia 😘

Esqueceram de avisar que também fazem tapioca a e omeletes. Só falaram no último dia. Entendo que foi uma falha momentânea, uma vez que sempre foram prestativas e simpáticas.

Café da manhã, cordialidade dos funcionários, da arte presente no local, beleza das instalações e quadros.

Acesso ao quarto (de nome Juliana), tivemos que subir por uma escada caracol de dimensões reduzidas, BOX de banho muito pequeno e quarto com pé direito muito baixo, ar condicionado com ventilação direta sobre a cama, não permitindo ajustes.

Não há estacionamento próprio, não há serviço de malas e nem quiseram conferir o número da minha reserva feita através do booking, e fechei um quarto de “Luxo” que não tinha absolutamente nada luxuoso.

Conforto e acolhimento em ótima localização em Paraty

A pousada e um charme, mantendo detalhes de um prédio histórico. Cama e roupa de cama muito confortáveis. Localização excelente, ao lado do cais de onde saem os passeios e próximo caminhando as ruas principais do centro histórico. Destaque para equipe, todas muito atenciosas e gentis: Marinete e as meninas que preparam o café da manhã delicioso e garantem a limpeza impecável. Nossa estadia foi incrível! Recomendo!

Une pousada exceptionnelle, un vrai havre de paix

Exceptionnel ! C’est le meilleur logement que nous ayons fait durant notre séjour au Brésil. Le personnel est incroyablement gentil et attentionné. L’hôtel est idéalement situé, en plein centre historique de Paraty. L’intérieur est magnifique, décoré avec énormément de goût. Le petit-déjeuner est délicieux : nous nous sommes régalés ! Ce lieu est une véritable bulle de bonheur dans un coin de paradis. Mille mercis pour ces quatre nuits inoubliables !
