Fantastic staff and great location

The location is perfect, walking distance from the beach and bus stations. You can take the bust to the old town and also the green buses to all the main tourist attractions, which unfortunately we only discovered it the last day of our stay (we were depending on google maps too much). Upon our arrival at the hotel the reception staff were brilliant and managed to get a room ready for us before the check in time, for which we were greatly appreciative as we had an early flight. The room was cleaned daily and very thoroughly, my mom, a clean freak, was very complimentary of the cleaning staff. The room had all the basic amenities, even a small desk and fridge freezer. The hotel has a small pool and a bar. Breakfast was decent, but I thought it didn’t have a great variety nor was there any milk alternatives.

Das OPERA BLUE Hotel Gouvia Corfu ist ein gut gelegenes Hotel in Gouvia. Zuverlässige Autovermietung und viele Restaurants und Geschäfte in unmittelbarer Nähe. Der Yachthafen ist ebenfalls fußläufig zu erreichen. Ich hatte in Gouvia 3 verschiedene Unterkünfte und dieses war Preis-Leistungsmäßig das beste Hotel. Besonders gut gefallen hat mir das reichhaltige Frühstücksbuffet und die außerordentlich Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter.

Ich hatte leider nur ein Zimmer im Erdgeschoß, das war etwas dunkel.

Fijne week gehad

Gelegen op een hele fijne locatie, aan een levendige straat met veel restaurants en winkels. Wij zaten met de kamer aan de achterkant dus hadden geen last van het verkeer. Vriendelijke personeel, vooral de poolbar meneer John :)

Het ontbijt was uitgebreid maar de kwaliteit kan wat beter. Het had fijn geweest als de kamer beter verduisterd kon worden maar ook hier wen je weer aan.

🌊 Hotelbewertung: Opeta Blue, Korfu Ehrlich, freundlich & hilfreich – für alle, die dort einchecken wollen. ⸻ ✅ Was mir gefallen hat • Lage, Lage, Lage: Perfekter Ausgangspunkt, um Korfu zu erkunden – egal ob Norden oder Süden. Und direkt ums Eck: leckere Tavernen, kleine Läden und ein traumhafter Strand mit glasklarem Wasser. • Zimmerausstattung: Modern eingerichtet, große Balkone, Klimaanlage läuft zuverlässig, und das Bett – zwar etwas hart, aber durchaus bequem. Fernseher mit deutschem Programm für regnerische Tage oder Tagesschau-Abende. • Flexibilität bei Problemen: WLAN im Zimmer kaputt? Kein Problem – ich bekam unkompliziert ein anderes Zimmer. Kundenfreundlich gelöst. • Reinigung: Die Zimmermädchen verdienen ein Extra-Lob – superfreundlich und sehr sauber gearbeitet. • Personal allgemein: Wirklich herzlich, hilfsbereit und immer mit einem netten Wort auf den Lippen. Man merkt, sie geben ihr Bestes – auch wenn nicht alles rund läuft. • Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis: Für das, was man zahlt, bekommt man solide Unterkunft mit gutem Anschluss zur Insel. Im Vergleich zu manchem „Luxusurlaub“ (z. B. auf Ibiza) sogar richtig fair.

❌ Was nicht so toll war • Toilettendesign mit Ecken und Kanten: Die Toilette ist sehr nah an der Wand platziert – und leider ist diese Wand rau und uneben. Wer dort länger sitzt, sitzt unbequem. • Keine Steckdose am Schreibtisch: Für alle, die ein bisschen arbeiten oder laden wollen – das wird sportlich. • Safe zum Mitnehmen: In einem meiner Zimmer war der Safe nicht befestigt. Praktisch als Handtasche, aber nicht im Sinne des Erfinders. • Stromausfälle: Immer wieder fiel der Strom aus – inklusive Sicherungskastensuche im Zimmer. Fahrstuhlfahren wird da schnell zur Mutprobe. • Beleuchtung nur vom Flur aus: Vom Bett aus das Licht ausmachen? Leider nicht vorgesehen. Unpraktisch, wenn man schon eingekuschelt ist. • Hellhörige Wände: Wer empfindlich auf Geräusche ist oder Pech mit lauten Zimmernachbarn hat – da helfen nur gute Ohrstöpsel. • Der Pool… nun ja: Riecht tatsächlich eher chemisch-muffig als einladend. Die Warnungen in anderen Bewertungen stimmen leider. • Grillrauch deluxe: Abends wird in der Nachbarschaft lecker gegrillt – der Duft ist fantastisch, aber zieht genau auf die draußen aufgehängte Wäsche. Räucherkammer inklusive. • Frühstück eher spartanisch: Wenig Auswahl, löslicher Kaffee – das geht besser, vor allem wenn man sich als Vier-Sterne-Haus präsentiert. • Eine Mitarbeiterin sehr „roboterhaft“: Kein Lächeln, kein Smalltalk – funktional, aber nicht herzlich. (Die anderen waren dafür umso netter!) ⸻ 🧳 Fazit: Opeta Blue ist kein echtes Vier-Sterne-Hotel – eher ein ordentliches Drei-Sterne-Haus mit Licht und Schatten. Wer mit etwas Improvisation leben kann und keinen Luxusurlaub erwartet, wird hier dennoch eine schöne Zeit haben. Freundliches Personal, gute Lage, faire Preise – das macht einiges wett. Und Korfu selbst ist sowieso die eigentliche Hauptattraktion. 🌅🇬🇷

Decent hotel in Gouvia , although fail to see how this has been awarded 4 stars?

The rooms were nicely decorated and modern, with a spacious balcony.

The hotel itself is on a busy road in Gouvia and the pool is located at the front of the hotel meaning all those walking past can see in, there felt like there was a lack of privacy at times. The majority of the staff were very friendly however when we first arrived, the woman on reception was abrupt and did not provide us with any basic information you would normally be told upon check in. We were not told anything about breakfast (where it was , times etc) , what the wifi pass word was , or even wished a nice stay. This was in contrast to the other staff member who was on reception on the Saturday and Sunday who was very friendly and helpful. It is a shame that the first contact we had with staff was with the initial woman as we didn’t feel very welcomed at all. The breakfast was quite basic but good value for money, it would have been nicer if there were more hot vegetarian options.

Ideal gelegenes Hotel mit grossem Balkon - Verbesserungspotenzial bei Bad, Frühstück sowie Service

Sehr gute Lage - Restaurants, Shops, der kleine Strand und die Bushaltestelle sind in wenigen Fussminuten erreichbar. Das Hotel macht soweit einen anständigen Eindruck, es scheint teilweise renoviert zu sein. Die Zimmer sind durchschnittlich gross, der Balkon sowie die Dusche haben aber eine sehr grosszügige Grösse. Der Herr an der Réception war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, dem restlichen Personal würde ab und zu ein Lächeln gut stehen ;-)

Das Badezimmer hat leider keine Lüftung und das zwar vorhandene Fenster lässt sich nicht öffnen, daher ist es etwas schwül und muffig. Der Zimmerservice bei uns war so gut wie nicht vorhanden (es wurde nur der Abfall geleert, Toilettenpapier mussten wir selber an der Réception besorgen). Das Frühstücksbuffet hat zwar eine ordentliche Grösse, hat aber qualitativ noch Luft nach oben. Es hat auf uns auch eher lieblos gewirkt. Ausserdem hatten wir das Pech, dass gleichzeitig eine Schülergruppe im Hotel war, was teilweise etwas Lärm bedeutet hat.

Great location,very friendly staff, Maria did amazing job ,and she looks after me and my friend.Comfortable beds and the room was very clean. Breakfast was nice ,nice selection of everything.

We got the wrong hotel room at first, but it got upgraded into a better one for free. The one staff lady was really friendly.

There was only 1 person in the whole staff who knew about anything. Other staff members always went to ask from her about anything. First day there was no warm breakfast, only sandwich and fruits. This was not informed in the hotel website
