Good for basic needs

We liked the breakfast and we had a complimentary beer. The lady that runs the place was very sweet. We were given water, too. There was good wifi.

It was not really what we hoped for. The bathroom needs mending, the room is located on the street level so keeping it open overnight is a no go, we heard screaming from other rooms. Also, everytime someone walked in the adjoined hall, it sounded as if someone had entered our room. We understand the question of liability, but seeing as Metsovo is quite complex for non-natives, and that we were extremely tired after hiking, we were sad to find that the staff could not park our car (nota bene, we were offering money for this extra service). But this is more of a side note and should not be seen as something one might expect from hotel staff.

Old fashioned hotel with a lot of character

If you like to momentarily step inside history, this place is for you. Lots of wooden panelling on the ceilings and walls, old-fashioned pull-chain lavatories, courteous waiters who seem to have stepped out of bygone TV dramas etc. We booked a room overlooking the town square which was bright and airy and offered a great view for 'people watching' outside. The bed was comfortable; the washing facilities adequate but, more than anything, it was the ambience of a past era that was so appealing. It was quite different to anything we had encountered in several trips to Greece. The breakfast was decent offering local bread, jams, cheese, honey and yoghurt. We had also had a light dinner in the restaurant the evening before which was excellent. With regards to parking, the town is extremely popular at the weekend with Greek tourists who come to sample barbecue lunches. Hence, the roads become very congested but there are a handful of parking spaces owned by the hotel.

The noise insulation between the bedrooms is not as good as it could be.

The breakfast was served personally on the the terrace. It was good and rich enough. The owner catered to our personal wishes.

The building and the room are old. It is a traditional building, which is it's charm but we'd like the bathroom, at least, to be modernised.
