About this bed and breakfast

Private, detached, gorgeous, newly built, fully equipped, one bedroom guest house ready and waiting to be booked by you! Superb location! Short walk to beautiful parks and beaches and minutes drive to historic Haleiwa Town.

This incredible, newly constructed modern home is located on our property in a quiet Haleiwa beach community. Absolutely perfect for a vacationing couple, business traveler, or Island adventurer.

A private entrance welcomes our guests into a gorgeous open-concept living room/kitchen area, large bedroom with queen sized bed and spacious closet, and an immaculate bathroom with over-sized enclosed shower.

A private, covered lanai offers an amazing space to relax with your morning coffee and view a spectacular Hawaiian sunset with a glass of wine after a busy (or relaxing) day in paradise.

If you’re so inclined to cook a meal, our modern kitchen includes all the essentials (and lots of extras): full size stove/oven, full sized refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher as well as coffee maker, toaster, and blender. The “in-house” washing machine/dryer and iron/ironing board will only help to make your stay easy and carefree.

Our beautiful, over-sized enclosed shower as well as our comfy bath towels, supply of shampoo/conditioner/body wash and hair dryer will make you feel right at home.

And while the ceiling fans and tropical breezes are usually enough to keep you comfortably cool, the spacious air conditioned master bedroom with a great queen sized bed will certainly help you sleep like a baby!

Our comfortable furnishings, essential amenities, and Island decor will make your stay at the Wave House a memorable one.

Guests are welcomed to enjoy the use of the beach chairs, beach towels, and small cooler on day trips. And when you’re not “out and about” cable TV and WiFi are just another part of the perfect paradise package.

My family, which includes myself, my wife, our two kids, and a very friendly dog (who is in a separate gated area during the day and in our house at night), live on this property.

We look forward to welcoming great people to our guest house and sharing our love for this Island Paradise.

Be advised: The private entrance to this rental is only accessible by climbing a staircase.

Our guests can begin their North Shore adventure as soon as they walk out the door. If morning exercise is part of your routine, then head around the corner to Kaiaka Park and walk/jog/run among spectacular trees with incredible river, mountain, and ocean views. Stop along the way to watch the sea turtles and check out the tide pools. An awesome way to start your day! If a coastline walk is more your style, head down the block to our gorgeous neighborhood beach where, more likely than not, you’ll have the ocean to yourself. This leisurely walk might just bring you face to face with more than one majestic sea turtle. What a way to start your day!

Since the North Shore is home to some of the most famous beaches and surf spots in the world, our guests are extremely lucky to be within walking distance of one of the best. Just a short walk from the house, explore famous Ali’i Beach, home of the first event in the Van’s Triple Crown of from November thru December. Go! Rent a board! Surf where the Pro’s surf!

But if surfing isn’t quite up your alley, you can always try kayaking, jet skiing, stand-up paddle boarding, snorkeling, diving, sailing, kite surfing, whale watching (in season) OR horseback riding, hiking, sky diving, shark cage diving, zip lining, ATVing, OR just picnic and sun bathe!

Historic, picturesque Haleiwa Town is home to brightly colored boutiques, galleries, surf shops, restaurants, and more recently, some of the best “food truck fare” anywhere! All this and a two minute drive from our guest house!

Drive a little further “up the road” and be astounded by the pristine coastline. Visit beautiful Waimea Bay, hike Waimea Valley, swim under a spectacular waterfall, check out Sharks Cove, be mesmerized by the waves at Banzai Pipeline, and enjoy one of the most spectacular sunsets anywhere at famous Sunset Beach.

If you decide to leave the intoxicating North Shore, it’s about an hour drive to the hustle and bustle of famous Waikiki.

But before you go, make it a point to visit the Polynesian Cultural Center for a one of the best luau dinners and spectacular shows on the Island. And an afternoon at the Dole Plantation is a only for the mouth watering pineapple ice cream!

“Slippahs” (aka flip-flops) are the preferred mode of local transportation. However, remember to bring sneakers or walking/hiking shoes. You’ll see many locals and tourists “getting around town” on bicycles, surf boards, paddle boards, boogie boards, canoes, and kayaks. Luckily, our guests can rent all of the above in Haleiwa 😎

The BUS, Oahu’s public transportation system, is actually a good way to get around the Island if you opt not to get a rental car.

Tucked away in the north shore is this little slice of paradise, a cosy retreat perfect for two. With views of the mountains and if you are lucky, the milky way (when the clouds disappear). We had the luxury of staying for 3 weeks in this home, and didn't want to leave!! Minutes from beaches and parks, plus a lovely stroll into the quaint Haleiwa, which still retains it's old time charm. The house had everything we needed and looked exactly like the pictures, clean, warm and inviting. Sharon and Mike are lovely and attentive hosts who ensure you have everything you need, we appreciated all the extra bits like beach chairs, umbrellas, cool bags and ice packs for trips to the local beach. Whether it's a day or a month, you will feel right at home. We can't wait to come back!

This place is a little gem! Nestled in a quiet location close to many things, especially the beach. Mike & family are very gracious. They are the best! So happy to have ac, washer/dryer, and dishwasher! We definitely will be back & hope to stay even longer!

Please note we have NEVER left a review less than 5 star. We stayed in this apartment for a month long stay in January with our 10 month old baby. Pros: updated, decent location, short walk to the beach, well equipped, allowed us to ship items prior to arrival. Cons: AC is very loud and only cools the bedroom (the main space got quite hot, can’t imagine what it’d be like in summer. Cooking on the stove/oven really heats things up (no grill). It’s one house over from a busy street (lots of road noise), so windows open at night can be noisy (even with ac running), the couch is incredibly dirty and smells (we ended up borrowing sheets from a family member to cover them throughout our stay) and we never once watched TV because of it. The host decided to begin construction directly below the unit the final week of our stay and didn’t notify us until the morning of construction. Due to having an infant we shared that it was an issue - they responded saying they would attempt to work with our schedule but would not stop. We attempted to find another place to stay but we were unable to find anything so last minute. We shared our concern and the host stopped communicating with us entirely and proceeded with construction. After no communication on the construction schedule, on day of checkout he apologized for the ‘little noise’ and offered to refund one day for the inconvenience. When we shared our frustration and how this led us to vacate the property for a significant amount of time to get our baby a quiet place to nap, he did not respond again. After 2 days of non-response from the host, we filed a complaint with VRBO and informed the host. He promptly replied and argued with us and called us dishonest when we shared our experience about how disruptive the construction and lack of communication was for us. Given that the funds had already been disbursed to the host from VRBO, we only received refund for 1 night, despite dealing with 4 days of construction where the host himself acknowledged that he normally would have blocked these dates to keep it unrented had he had more notice. All in all, it’s a cute place for a week stay. Just bring extra sheets for the couch and maybe some ear plugs! Hopefully the construction was just an unfortunate situation we had to deal with and hopefully no one else has to navigate this on their vacation.
