About this apartment rental
The spacious two bedroom apartment is in Playa Honda, near La Manga. It's just 50 metres from the beach, alongside the calm warm waters of the Mar Menor.
It's just a 35 minute ride from the new Murcia (Corvera) airport.
The apartment is on the 1st floor and has a lift. It has 2 good size bedrooms, a fully fitted kitchen, bathroom with bath and shower, and a spacious living room/diner with satellite TV, DVD player and a mini hi-fi. The large terrace overlooks the pool and gardens.
The apartment has FREE high speed internet (225MB)
The apartment has recently had a nice makeover, with a new 32 inch flat screen TV, chaise lounge sofa, new beds, dining table and chairs, curtains and fixtures.
There's a large open-air swimming pool with a jacuzzi (open during the summer), and a heated indoor pool with sauna (open October/November - May). There's also a gymnasium, a safe kids play area and landscaped gardens with palm trees.
The apartment has both air-conditioning and heating. All linen and towels and all mod cons are supplied. You'll be greeted on arrival, and a local contact will always be on hand.

Golfing: This area is a haven for golf lovers........First of all there is the famous La Manga Club which is just 5 minutes away with it's 3 championship golf courses. There are other golf courses all within easy driving distance - Villamartin, Las Ramblas, Campoamor, Altorreal and the new course La Finca.
The Beaches: The apartment is less than 50 metres from the Mar Menor beach. There are many beaches around this area, both along the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean. Try Calblanque, it's part of a nature reserve, and is just a few minutes drive away (well worth a visit)..............There are beach cafe bars, plus you can hire pedelo's, wind surfs, speed boats etc........This area is a haven for all types of water sports and has many teaching centres too for scuba diving, sailing, wind-surfing, water skiing etc...... Diving clubs and schools exist both at Cabo de Palos and in La Manga.
The Local Area: The famous La Manga strip with an abundance of restaurants, bars and shops is just a 5 minute drive away.....Cabo De Palos is beautiful; It's just a few minutes away and has a nice selection of restaurants and cafe bars surrounding the marina. It has a great market on Sundays.....The tourist information centre is in Cabo De Palos. The very Spanish village of Los Belones is nice and just a few minutes away too......The historic city of Cartagena, with it's Roman ruins is just 15 minutes away. .....A car is recommended to allow you to sample the surrounding villages and area.

Booking process was straight forward and unlike others you have the option of paying a deposit with the balance at a later date.
We arrived at the airport and phoned Phil once we had sorted our hire car. He met us outside the very colourful apartment block. He took us in through the car park which is underground and showed us to our space.
You have a key to get in and out of the carpark and the same for the lift. The apartment is on the first floor and you can only access the carpark via the lift. There are stairs that take you to the pool area or main exit which is also locked so quite secure for residents and guests.
The apartment is a good size for four people. We were left a welcome pack with bread, milk and butter which was good. The kitchen has a washing machine which we used a couple of times, very easy to figure out the programmes. I liked the cupboard above the sink which was a drainer for the dishes. There are a selection of pots and pans which we used.
One bedroom had twin beds and the other a double, which was comfortable.
The bathroom had a ceramic bath which was a good size and a shower above. We purchased toilet rolls as only saw one but then found a pack in the bottom drawer of the vanity. Next people in won't need to buy any!
The lounge diner was a good size and the television had a good 15 channels on the air setting that could be changed to English and 10 on cable but only really channel 4 and BBC1 were clear. This we believe from Phil was due to the high winds that greeted us at the start. There is a DVD player and a selection of films. We were out everyday exploring so it was only the evenings we wanted to watch something.
My husband used the gym most days which has a fair bit of kit. It was a shame the indoor pool was out of action due to the boiler not working. The sun didn't make it to the outdoor pool area but I imagine in the summer it does get the sun.
We walked in both directions on the beach which was pleasant and some lovely views. Lots of Pokémon if you are into that as well!
Good communication from the owner Lee and Phil was available if required.

Overall an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Unfortunately the indoor pool was shut for repairs for the week and the WiFi was not working for three of the days. The location is beautiful and if the weather is good you can easily chill on a beach but on rainy days there is not much to do in October. Overall happy with the stay though.

We had a wonderful vacation in this well equipped appartment
at Playa Honda.
We were very well received. We were picked up at bus station in Cartagena by Phil, and Ann took care of all information at the appartment.
Very good information from the owner by email after our booking. I loved the balcony which was very well furnished and in comfortable shadow. We had more than enough sun at the lovely beach at the Mar Menor.
