Casa Salento

Clean, cozy, excellent breakfast with many options, staff available for info on activities in town. They booked for us the taxi to the airport and the horseback riding. Very welcoming

The noise outside. Bathroom not well equipped. Very small sink. Water pressure of the shower is quite low.

We stayed in the king suite at the very top of the hotel. It is a very large room with two king beds and one must climb three flights of stairs to reach it (which was not a big deal for us). It is a well-lit, bright room (has black out curtains). The staff at Casa Salento, especially Erica, is excellent. Erica provided very clear instructions on tours (Cocora Valley) and gave us an excellent recommendation for a coffee tour that was a little more personal. She answered all questions patiently, and also helped us with airport transfer to Pereira. She is truly an asset to the property. The other staff is also very lovely, but they speak no English. Breakfast is an adequate affair. The room has very good hot water, which is excellent after a long day of hiking, and room cleaning is done well. The beds and pillows are comfortable and there is a small safe to stow documents etc. (not large enough for laptops). I wish we had had a balcony like some of the other rooms on the second floor. We did hear the Ave Maria at 5:30 am from he Church and a loud rooster that served as an alarm clock. Plenty of shelves in the room as well. Location of Casa Salento is the hidden secret. It is quite close to the town square and cafe Jesus Martin, as well as the laundry, and some restaurants, and not too far from the bus station (walkable with bags). Excellently convenient!

The bathroom even for the king is very tiny and the sink did not have a warm water setting. And we wish the room had yellow lights instead of white light table-lamps, and a somewhat larger dining table. There is also a dog that barks endlessly next door (quiet in the late hours ...until the owner gets home I think). There is no on-site laundry.

The hotel is cute and the staff (Erica in particular) are amazing. This review is for the room "Marron" which is one floor up. We had already stayed here for two days in the king suite which we liked. On the plus side, this room opens out into a patio type area with comfortable chairs and a work station which we treated like an extension of the room.

This room was right on the street so it was loud! Traffic sounds - bikes and cars - were very loud since the windows are not soundproofed. On top of this, there was construction on the property and the location of this particular room is such that and the sounds were extremely unpleasant and headache inducing. We had no peace and quiet when we wanted to spend time in the room in the afternoons. The bathroom was small and no hot water in the sink. We could not leave the windows open due to the street noise, but closing them made the room super stuffy (no fan or aircon).
