Comfy bed and a good bathroom

Our stay was basically very disappointing. The place was dreadfully lit. Stairs therefore very dangerous. Mai,Yang a hot drink in dim light was also precarious. The standard room we had booked was so dark, small, strange smelling and tiny. Only one hook on which to hang clothes, this being on the shower door. We requested another room which was a an upgrade. No negotiation about the additional cost. The hotel was deserted when we left in the morning at around 9.30am. No help with our luggage as we left, again trying to negotiate the stairs. We were simply left to it! . We could not have evacuated the building in any kind of emergency. I am partially sighted, and we are in our early 70’s. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS VENUE.

Overall comfortable but a few things need amending

Great location. Room generally good value. The power shower was great and we liked the breakfast in the little hamper.

Various small things in our room needed improving. The bathroom floor was sticky, the toilet seat was old and very stained, the bedside lamp didn’t work, we found a hair (not ours) in the bed, the kettle had a PAT test sticker for 2018 on it, the teaspoon was already used and left on the suaver, the lock on the fire exit (through which we had to enter after 10pm from the street) was broken so anyone could have opened it and our bedroom was right next door.

Value for money and quirky

Value for money and very quirky rooms. Stayed with group of friends so enjoyed a few beers in the cosy bar, which were cheap which is rare. Perfect location and quick easy check in

Very convenient location and lots of character

Very convenient location as our choir was singing at cathedral. Staff were very friendly and excellent breakfast (£7 exrra for cooked) was very punctual at 8am as we were tight for time. Room was a bit quirky eg box bed with steps but adds to character ! Nice refitted bathroom with good size bath.

Room small felt very cramped. Get rid of cushions cluttering up what small space there is. Fans outside window v noisy. Upfront guidance on how to get to NCP car park would have been very useful due to entrance opposite pub not possible.

A comfortable, friendly place in a great central location.

Lovely welcome, great location, the room was very comfortable. There was a nice selection of tea, coffee, biscuits and water available, and it was helpful to have a mini fridge for my own supplies. Also a good move to have a fan in the room as it was a warm night. The breakfast basket was a delight, and a very nice touch!

The only thing I felt was missing was some kind of table or desk, but I realise in a small room it isn't easy.

Overall very tired looking needs a spruce up 🙃nothing to make our stay unpleasant staff were friendly as we're the locals Chinese Next door was excellent Noise from the car park opposite especially after hours Bin lorries in the morning leaving the depot Which of course is out of your control Sadly thou the dog mess on the fire escape was unexpected !

Comfortable, great value, and an excellent breakfast.

Very comfortable room, excellent bed, and even a fan provided for the hot weather. The staff were really friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. All good quality ingredients and well presented. Very good value for money.

It's clearly a busy and popular pub (with excellent beers) so a Friday night can be a little noisy, but a great atmosphere.

Hats off to The Cardinal's Hat.

It's an old traditional pub that hasn't been knocked through with TV screens, fruit machines and piped music. The continental and cooked breakfasts were both excellent.

Whilst I enjoyed using the shower, a bath option would have been good. I appreciate that there wasn't enough space for this in my room.

Comfy rooms on a historic street

Lovely room with a comfy bed, good facilities and en-suite. The breakfast basket was a good idea. The pub is in a very interesting, old area of town, with lots of independent shops and restaurants nearby. The NCP carpark was very handy. Very nice to have an ancient inn welcoming dogs.

On the downside, I asked for an early check-in (by 1 hour) in 3 messages sent to the pub, but in the end, with 1 hour to go (when we were already on our way) they said this was not possible. We also didn't get any reduction on the NCP parking charges, which I think is mentioned somewhere on their website.

The staff, specifically very friendly and helpful. Let us drop our bag early before check in. Room was nice. The fan was much needed.

It says there's an iron, but there's not, and as it was a Saturday evening and busy in the pub, I didn't want to disturb any staff.

A very pleasant stay.

Lovely room. Excellent location. Historic building in a wonderfully lively and historic city, not full of barbers and charity shops. Pretty walled garden area. Breakfast also very good.

Lovely room, great bathroom. Nice to wake up and have the breakfast in a basket waiting. Staff were wonderful.

Room could've been cleaner there were a few places where the duster had missed (around the radiator in the fireplace on the window ledge). Dirty toilet brush (clean toilet though).

An enjoyable stopover in a very atmospheric pub

Nicely appointed bedroom if small [which given the historic nature of the pub is unsurprising] We had the continental breakfast which was well presented and left outside our room overnight. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked fine. We stayed during a particularly hot weekend in July and the room did get warm and stay warm overnight but no complaints, suspect it would be quite cozy in winter.

City centre gem

Great city centre location with really nice staff. It's totally dog friendly and the bar serves great ales. The continental breakfast in a picnic basket, delivered to the room, was superb. There's bottled water and coffee in the room. The 4 poster bed was a nice touch.

The steep stairs - not really a criticism as it's a coaching inn. The winter weight duvet with no air con wasn't great. The shower is not separate from the deep bath which is a bit awkward for people with mobility issues. Parking is in the NCP car park at £11.50 extra.

Quaint & Fab

Loved the quaintness of this place its the oldest inn in Worcester but still really comfortable. We stayed in a room with a lovely gold bed which was so comfortable. Plus the large bath in the bedroom was gorgeous. Close to Worcester cathedral shops and restaurants.

We were on the 2nd floor which took a bit of doing if you're older but it was worth it to see the room which was amazing.
