B&B Il Casale di Monserrato

This is the nicest B&B we've ever been to. It's more of a 5 start hotel, but without all the hassle. It's very private, yet feels truly luxurious. It's a gem on a gem of an island. Breakfast is a fantastic selection of local foods and sweets, as are the tastefully decorated rooms, facilities and gardens featuring beautiful citrus trees. It's built like a symphony of goodness, with every aspect adding to the overall feeling of having returned home to paradise. Everything is very well thought through, down to the way you're accessing the very special parking lot. I recommend you read about its history before going there, as the house used to be a monastery built 400 years ago. It's amazing how they managed to modernize while maintaining the original atmosphere of peace, quiet, and welcoming organic shapes and materials. The hosts Luca and Rosaria were fantastic guides who treat you like old friends and fill you in with the best locations on the island. They even assisted us when we had a minor emergency. We are grateful for the experience and will most likely return next year.
