This was a grand hotel highlighted by its peaceful setting overlooking the river. The hotel building was majestic including the traditional architecture, the pool and the art. The food at the restaurant was definitely the highlight. Breakfast was always interesting and varied enough from one day to the next. This is a pilgrimage destination and as far as I could tell, no other western tourists - resulting in incredibly friendly feedback from almost everyone. Service was wonderful.
The hotel seemed a little cavernous - I mean the halls were very large. There were many art or lighting stations in the halls that were conspicuously empty. Although it was nice to be the only ones in the restaurant sometimes, it does detract from the atmosphere.
